Ok .. I came in for dinner with my brother. Although there were only 2 of us I sat myself at large corner table. Server took a while to approach... When she finally came she did not make eye contact or introduce herself... I never received pickles & when she served my food she just threw it at me with crackers. Red sauce in soup gave me instant heard burn. I requested a manager. Desiree approached & Ricovered the poor experience. I was literally in tears because I have personal issues I am dealing with... Sorrow & grief. I blamed my sensitive emotions on my reaction. Desire would not hear of it. 2 order of wings were comped by Desiree.... I told her I would not leave a review because it would be negative... I agreed to come back... I came back the next day & ordered wings & club sandwich to go. After arriving home wings were undercooked. I returned to 1st Street deli on fathers day with my some who had the greatest experience with me earliest that week at Cassie's restaurant. We left I great review about Cassie, Jessica & took pictures with the chef.
Fathers day dinner with my son, I also had my 2 year old granddaughter... She was a handfull. Iggie & Zanna personally served my family. Our food & service was impeccable. Personal service, personal touch, hospitality, attention to detail , attentiveness, anticipating our needs and even coddling my granddaughter as she was a handful. We ordered multiple items and had to take some things to go. We had the prime rib special for Father's Day we ordered it to medium rare and it came out well done. Management offered a $40 off of our next experience. It wasn't necessary because they had gone above and beyond that day. I came in the following night. After being seated I was approached by a manager and she stated I stole wings a few nights prior and I had no right to complain about anything. I could not make any complaints. I ordered the Reuben pastrami combination sandwich. The meat was gummy tough like it was cooked in the microwave. As per her orders I did not complain. I packed the unfinished portion & ordered multiple to go items. I do not receive the proper sides on the orders that I made to go I did not want to complain as it would suggested I should not. by the manager on that shift. I left my gift card after signing the check when I called back....Iggi answered. I informed her of my sandwich, missing side items from my to-go order on Monday & the accusation of stolen wings and the fact that I left my gift card..... As per my experience with her.... she went above & beyond.... Assuring me that they will check the videotape to locate the card. She offered a $50 comp for the sandwich and the missing side items. I informed her that I was told not to make a complaint I felt any more comps would be frowned upon by the manager who scorned me about making complaints. Iggy assured me there was nothing to worry about and she was only doing her part to ensure that my experience was top shelf. I was told to come in Thursday Desiree & the G.M. would be there to formally address my experiences here bad & good. I think I was missing macaroni salad and onion rings. I vow that I would never return to 1st Street darling. I was embarrassed, ashamed and felt somewhat disrespected. Iggy Zanna and Desiree made my experience pleasurable but Cassie... Out did them all. If Desiree, Zanna or Izzy are not working .. I will...
Read moreMy husband always picks up dinners from 1st Street Deli, and I love them. Today tho, we met there for an In-House experience. The menu does not display the different types of beer they offer, so I asked our server what their beer variety was. He refused to tell me the variety. He wanted to know what I was looking for, which was a menu,a variety to chose from. I ordered water. Then he proceeded to ask me to remove my mask and put it in a bag they provide, cuz he couldn't hear me well, which I understand, partly, since the music was a tad loud. That being said, when I served tables I never requested anybody to remove their masks. If I couldn't hear them, I asked them to speak up. In the midst of the pandemic when I eat out, I only remove my mask once the food is on the table and the server walks away, not while ordering. The third strike came when the server decided to deliver my husband's second beer. This man stood inches from my maskless self to deliver his beer across the table. In a nutshell, he ruined my experience tonight, but the food is great. For the remainder of the pandemic I'll keep picking up. Edit: I was so shocked by that server's attitude that after a while I didn't want to even look at him. Today my husband told me his name tag said he's "John, from Peru". It seems John from Peru needs some...
Read moreI am rewriting this review, the food at this place is amazing! My parents recommended it to me and brought me back their Cheese Steak sandwich wich was delicious. They also brought back some Carrot Cake wich i also loved, I then went 2weeks later to purchase some more of that same Carrot Cake for my father's Retirement Party. Unfortunately that day the Deli was out of Carrot Cake and seemed like they where short staffed as i ended up waiting 45min for a pork sandwich that was not only cold but completely burnt on one side. They had to shutdown the take-out line and i was very disappointed that I couldn't get my father that Carrot Cake wich he loves. After posting my original negative review i was immediately contacted by Derrick the Manager and he apologized for the terrible service and offered to make it right upon my next visit by comping my meal and guarantee that they would have the Carrot Cake available. That is why I am rewriting this review, the level of professionalism and integrity shown by the manager is what keeps me and my parents going back to this establishment and highly recommend...
