I was looking forward to trying this place for a while. The day I went in was a Thursday so your results may vary. I walk in to the door and it was eerily quiet no music or anything. I go to the host stand and the workers look like they'd rather die than serve anybody. (This takes place an hour after they opened). With a significant queue of take out orders waiting.
Then when I placed my order the host who served me seemed unknowledgeable about the business, I asked whether or not she knew of any other locations and she said that it's a different owner for every store so she doesn't know. When I didn't know about certain products she gave me a dirty look and just pointed at the menu without further explanation.
I ordered a Thai milk tea with boba and a corn cheese dog. It took a substantial amount of time for my order to come out, without anyone to explain how long it would take. The thai milk tea had a weak flavor hardly any boba and was warm with...
Read moreI am visiting my son and decided to have Bonchon for dinner. This was the most disappointing meal I’ve eaten in a long time. I spent $115 for dinner and threw most of it away. The chicken was overcooked and dry; the appetizer popcorn shrimp were equivalent to frozen supermarket shrimp dipped in a tasteless sauce; the seafood fried rice was white, dry, flavorless with very little seafood; the bulgogi was strings of cheap chewy beef with no flavor. The pork potstickers were the only thing worth eating. I have eaten Bonchon in other areas, so the substandard food was an unpleasant surprise. I would hate to think the quality of food is contingent on the neighborhood and location of the Bonchon restaurant. I recommend Suzie Tsai, Bonchon CEO, investigate this location to ensure the restaurant is upholding the quality of the Bonchon brand. I will never eat at this...
Read moreThis is my second time ordering from them. The first time I ordered from this location they gave me raw and bad pork meat on the Pork Buns. Vowing to never order from this location again, I went to the Bonchon on half street in DC (Navy Yard) to order the pork buns and it was amazing! The pork meat was cooked thoroughly and looks just like the picture, they also sliced the cucumber into little shreds as they’re supposed to. I went to Door Dash today to have it delivered to me and I initially thought the half street location would deliver to me but I was sadly mistaken when I got my meal and found the uncooked pork meat and smelly pork meat was given to me in my order. Then I went to the Door Dash site to see where it came from and of course it was delivered from the Hyattsville location. The location in Hyattsville is unprofessional and disgusting. DO...
