Coopers BBQ — Restaurant in College Station

Not worth the high prices. Inedible, Staff nice despite food issues. I ordered burnt ends and the guy tried to "baptize them on sauce" because it was horrible and dried out. ( I'm not calling him a pitmaster because he had dried out the meat and then has the teenagers cut and wrap while he stands there and they're trying to rush around and serve.) It was like toothpicks. Way over cooked.. the pieces that were not dried out were thick pieces of deckle fat. It was like BBQ jerky. Thankfully servers made it right by replacing it with better meat. The mashed potatoes had no Mayonnaise, like mashed potatoes with pickle juice and pimento. The sausage was decent but slicers don't cut all the way through. The free beans were okay,, too many jalapeños. The banana pudding has too much flour/ cornstarch - you can stand a spoon up in it and it tastes like Mexican vanilla. Great ribs, brisket, turkey, sausage! Green beans and corn are good. We do not eat any of the other sides or desserts so cannot comment on those. Love the bbq sauce and recommend getting everything “baptized.” Meat is a bit pricey, but it is good meat every time. If you want to bring a meal that everyone will like to someone who just got out of hospital or had a baby or loss in family … you cannot go wrong delivering a ToGo box of any assorted Cooper BBQ meats.
