I genuinely cannot fathom how so many people are complaining about the service at Revolution. I am writing this review solely because of how INCREDIBLE my experience was with the staff. I attended the Collingswood Fine Arts festival and underestimated how hot it would be. I have POTS and numerous other health conditions and normally when I leave the house I use a wheelchair. I chose today to push myself, which backfired incredibly fast. I was strolling the street and saw the cart they had out front, and asked if they would be willing to fill up my water bottle (40 oz Owala) with tap water for free. The person working said most likely yes, and I thanked them and explained I have POTS. I have never seem someone jump so quickly into action in assisting someone with a disability without being ridiculously condescending and infantilizing. They helped me inside, got my water bottle filled up, and got me positioned in front of the fan immediately. The shop owner just so happened to be working and also offered me an apple juice. I explained I was unfortunately broke and was totally fine with taking my newly filled Owala and leaving, but she insisted it was on the house. I am now sitting in the shop typing this review and sipping the best apple juice I have ever tasted. For reference, I have done dedicated juice tastings at wineries in the Finger Lakes wine region before, and this is still better. I cannot speak to the taste of the coffee, but I can speak to the kindness of the staff, and the fact the blueberry pie latte looks like it would cause me to transcend into an astral plane of joy from how good it sounds. Please support this business because they...
Read moreFeels like a really average coffee shop. I was excited to try it but I think I put too much on the word "revolution". I was very frustrated by the lack of menu online, as I like to be prepared before I go places. I also found the menu setup in shop confusing as half of it was on a wall farther back that could be easily missed. I am vegan and I asked about the syrups and they were unsure about the answer but willingly checked for me. I got a lavender mocha with almond milk. I couldn't taste the lavender. I didn't bother to ask if any of the pastries were vegan. I highly doubt it but someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Reducing waste is important to me, and they did make my drink in my own cup for me, which I deeply appreciate. When my drink was ready the barista ambiguously put it down and didn't acknowledge me at all and I was kinda confused if my drink was ready or not.
Again the service and quality are average imo, but I don't think they are worse than most coffee shops. I also notice that in the "about" section on Google they do not have "lgbtq friendly" or "transgender safe space" listed. These are simple markers that I feel matter in today's climate. I'll give benefit of the doubt; maybe they haven't updated Google in a while. Overall I was definitely hoping for a more progressive vibe given the name. I am not sure in what way they are trying to carry out the branding of "revolution". I would give them one more try to see if the vibe...
Read moreGiving 2 stars is generous. This has been my favorite coffee shop for several years. I go out of my way to drive there instead of the coffee shop 4 blocks from my house. I buy all my espresso beans from them every other month. Today I went in for two more bags of espresso beans and a drink, I couldn’t remember the sizes of the iced lattes so I asked the tall guy at the register who I’ve never seen before what the sizes were for iced drinks and he gave me the 3 or 4 different sizes. I gave him my order of a medium iced soy vanilla latte. He said “so you don’t want a cold brew?” And I said what? He repeated. I said that I said a latte. Then he says the sizes are different for that and there’s only one size and I said okay that’s fine. He looked at the guy making the coffees and laughed which is so inappropriate it’s insane especially when I never once said the words cold brew. Then the guy making my drink asked what my order was and I told him it’s a soy vanilla latte. He said okay got it. Proceeds to hand me my latte without putting vanilla syrup in it. I walk all the way to my car, took a sip and realized and had to walk back. I handed them my latte and said there’s no vanilla. The tall guy takes it and acts like he’s putting vanilla in it but again, there’s no vanilla in it. There’s usually women working at this shop that are always kind and lovely. Whoever these two guys are just ruined my favorite coffee shop so...
