My husband and I like to "eat out" once a week, which means go pick up some take out from a local restaurant and bring it home for a movie night. Not a large chain, or fast food. Local businesses owned by people within our community, because we want our money to help support our community.
We were shocked to see your business PACKED with indoor diners during a weeknight while Region 4 is still under mitigations which specifically prohibits those actions since they actively contribute to the spread of COVID-19. Our region continues to have the highest rate of positive cases. Whether or not your county is enforcing the state mandate does not speak to our internal moral obligation to do what is right. Have you ever been joking around with someone that's pretty sick but in good spirits and less than 60 minutes later they are saying they can't take it anymore because it's too hard to breathe and they're ready to die? I have. They were intubated 15 minutes later and proned shortly after that. Not sure if you can tell I'm a little bit salty, but maybe that's because we've been doing this for way too long. These people are fighting for their lives, and losing, while medical science throws every possible thing at them all while the hospitals remain at capacity and critically understaffed. Be very concerned for whatever care you or a loved one may receive if you are hospitalized. Think about the role you may be playing in spreading a disease that you may not even display any symptoms but might kill your mail carrier. We are trying our hardest and we will always do our best to take care of you, but we are so tired.
We can't support a business that is participating in activities that contribute to the spread of a highly infectious, airborne disease that yesterday took the lives of 35 Illinoisans (total of 20,744 to date). Bringing us up to 419,730 Americans that have died because of COVID. I know that we are all just trying to get by and keep the lights on and roofs over our heads, but this isn't the way. I wish we had more support and incentive to do the right things so that people wouldn't feel backed into a corner, but hopefully things will change for the better with this new administration.
With that being said, your vegetarian fajitas are pretty good and you offered curbside takeout and the gentleman was very nice and wore a facemask. Please reconsider your business model during one of our community's darkest times. Stay safe, and please consider vaccination when it becomes available for you and your loved ones.
ETA: Region 4 is now under phase 4 mitigations allowing indoor dining at 25% capacity and 6 ft apart or with impenetrable barrier as of 2/4/21....
Read moreWent there for Mother’s Day with a few family members, I believe there were 9 of us. First off their food was fire and their I’ve never had such a good margarita, they r great w that area 😬lol. The service was subpar, they took absolutely forever, then of course, my chicken chimichanga was even later to where everyone else was almost completely done by the time I got my plate…. I mean, we had already waited about 45 mins before our waiter to even come take our orders, then it takes another maybe hr to 1 1/2 hrs before we see the food we waited 45 mins to order then tack on an additional 20 mins for only my plate!! Was insane.. but food was good, salsa a bit on the spicier side from what I’d usually like lol and their chips could use some salt. Oh, and one final thing, if ur busy and you know it may be a bit before ur table gets anything, at least be decent and give each customer coming in, a default glass of ice water to sip on right as ur seating them, cause yall had us outside in the sun and it got a bit hot, spicy salsa and chips was all that was given and so we were very parched lol. Their chicken chimichanga was very good, there was a lot to eat and it ended up being 2 meals cause I took the rest home lol. Oh, their margaritas were fire too! So damn tasty and even w a good amt of 🥴 in it lol. Ok im...
Read moreThis place is a little hard to review because we went there for the first time just before dinner time on a weekend (Sunday) Cinco de Mayo, so I do not believe it was a great representation of a typical day. The place was packed, and there appeared to be tons of staff that were on the move constantly. Every single person on the staff I interacted with was very, very kind.
Everything was clean, the food was good, and the drinks were good, but the service did seem disorganized...like they just staffed up for the day, but didn't have any system or plan for handle to handle a packed house. I won't go into the story of the whole meal, but I have the sense that this is a great place to go when it's not so packed.
They need a plan or to prep the staff better when it is busy because we didn't just for example get our meals and then not get utensils until we flagged someone down 5 minutes later. They also forgot to include 3 drinks on our bill, which we told them about when paying. It would have been cheaper for us of course if we hadn't said anything, but to see the staff and business go without $30 (or more on some tables' bills, which I'm sure A LOT of people never said anything about) is really unfortunate, when the staff was so kind, the food was good, they were clearly working their...
