Five Star Pizza — Restaurant in Colon Township

We are not from the area and thought it was a restaurant with beer, when we realized it wasn't we decided to take the pizza to go, so we placed our order as a carryout and waited for it. Definitely a mistake not calling it in ahead of time, they are busy before 4pm! Good for them! We love to see businesses thriving!

Despite being busy, service was great. The friendly cashier took our order right away and got it in the line of orders.

My kids loved their soda selection. Great local brands! Nice to see this!

While waiting, we admired their amazing selection of homemade cheesecake slices that all looked like heaven. I wish I would have gotten one.

We waited a while for the pizza to be ready but again, it was totally our fault for not calling ahead. But even after a long wait, it was worth it!

Absolutely fantastic pizza! Everything about it was awesome. Perfect ratio of crust-to-sauce-to-cheese. The sauce is super good, lots of flavor but not overpowering and it wasn't dripping off the edges. We are not a fan of overly-saucy pizzas. Pepperoni was crispy on the edges. Cheese had a nice light browning but not burnt. Its the kind of pizza that is so good you even enjoy the crust. It's not a thin crust but it's not thick. It's a great hand-tossed style slightly on the thinner side. It was also cooked just right. I don't think there is any way that it could have been better than what we got.

I wish there was one of their locations closer to me because I would absolutely order it again. My children both said they like it better than our local places back home and I agreed.

The bread was a little doughy but the place isn't called "Five Star Bread", so I'll let them pass on that. :) if I was at home I would have thrown them in the air fryer for a minute and I guarantee they would have been outstanding. But the bread didnt matter because the pizza stole the show and honestly, if we were staying in Colon a few more days we would have stopped back in for another!

Alright pizza,and decent price. Absoutley horrible customer service. Don't expect to be able to pay with plastic either. It's 2013 and they don't take plastic.....cash only business, makes you wonder why that is? My wife just called and spoke to a rude woman that mumbled while answering the phone. My wife had to repeatedly ask if this is five star pizza. The woman became increasingly rude to my wife so I asked for the phone. I informed the rude woman their website has a menu attached. I wanted one of their specials listed. She told me there was no such menu. I stated I am looking at it right now. She said "No, No, No, No". Well, at least I was starting to understand the words coming out of her mouth. Like I said, good price, decent pizza, rude employees. I guess I'll have to spend it...

The pizza is always really good in my opinion. However it’s not something I feel is worth the price, however when your in a small town and cheaper options being 30 min away, you kinda pay for the convenience of pizza being in town. I’m not sure if paying 30-40$ less for two pizzas and a breadstick is worth making the 45 min- hour round trip to get something cheaper. But if you’re okay with the drive I’d say you could get just as much for half the price elsewhere.
