I never leave online reviews but this one is worth noting.
I’ve been in the restaurant industry for 15 years, getting to travel the world and spot for a number of little hole in the wall businesses. I went in today and not only was the Owner the one who took my order, but the energy, the privacy of getting to enjoy my meal, and the quality of the service was top notch. He interacted with others as if they were friends and it’s a rare thing to see in this day and age.
Onto the meal. I went a few months back when I first landed in Michigan, about 3 1/2 months ago and the food was 4/10. It was over cooked, lacking flavor, and just overall didn’t give me any thought of coming back.
Now today, I decided to give it a chance, and I was surprised. Not only was the menu reasonably priced, but the food was excellent. I ordered the Ambs road sandwich, which is exactly what I ordered last time, and this time it exceeded my expectations 10 fold. Whatever has happened in the past few months, I hope continues to happen. I know this is a lengthy reviews but I will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu and I have high hopes. 10/10 would recommend to go to this cozy little diner in the...
Read moreAfter waiting over an hour for our food, half of the food was cold. We ordered appetizers and finally asked once an hour had passed about if the apps could come out first and the waitress was very confused on the concept of appetizers coming out first. We could see half of our order was done and just sitting in the back. There was only one other table waiting on food so it wasn’t busy. I think if the staff had some more training on how to do their jobs, this could be a great little restaurant, but unfortunately the experience was not great. $9 for 6 small fried mushrooms was disappointing. My husbands burger was as small as a ‘slider’. Half of the food was missing cheese. One of the wraps the server dropped half...
Read moreI am heading to the area this weekend for some serious fishing. First on the list for fishing is a good breakfast. It looks like we found our eating spot without much effort. After seeing the frosted cookies shaped like Michigan (both upper and lower) how can the chef not be "most excellent dude" on the grill. Chef start making more cookies please. Between the group I see a few dozen just for boat snacking and a few more to take home for the "fisherman" in our group that spend most of the time "fishing" for another beer. They need to bring something home and they are not getting any of mine. Will update after our trip on food and especially...
