Great Irish food, great service. They serve standard "Irish pub fare" as you find it in the US, but they do it very well.
The appetizer serving of soda bread is great, with a nice crust, warm, and served with a nice honey butter. If you like soda bread, I'd definitely recommend getting the appetizer, because many entrees come with a single slice (called "toast" on the menu) that is not as crusty.
We had the Corned Beef and Cabbage and a Full Irish Breakfast. The corned beef was tender and wonderful, cut into large chunks. I appreciate this for presentation, since many places give you slices that contrast with the rest of the dish. Here, a large shallow bowl is filled to the brim with broth, cabbage, carrots, and potato chunks. The veggies were delightful, too.
The Irish Breakfast includes a single slice of black pudding and white pudding, two bangers, two slices of rashers, two eggs, fried potatoes, white beans, two large slices of grilled tomato, and a bed of spinach. The beans are served cold, which the server says is "traditional," but it's also the least interesting part of the dish.
The rashers (Irish bacon) are nicely fried in butter and have an almost nutty quality to them.
The bangers are as expected - and wonderful.
The black pudding was a surprise. For the uninitiated, it's a pork sausage made with pork blood (this is what makes it black), made with grains as a filler. It tastes just like a seasoned pork sausage. If I try it again, I'll eat it on the soda bread.
White pudding is a similar pork sausage, made without blood. It's fine, but a little bland next to the black.
The rest - potatoes, tomatoes, eggs, and spinach - are a tasty side attraction to the meat. The rashers were the star of the show.
If we're back in town, we will definitely stop here again. I want to try their lamb stew and scotch eggs. Well...

Decent price. $9.00 Scotch Egg Delicious. Perfectly cooked, well breaded, well seasoned. Had only 1 slice of bread which was pretty pitiful. For $9, I reckon they could have thrown in a second one or given a larger piece of bread. I had a pretty sizable amount of gravy left. Or just decrease the amount of gravy if you're not giving me enough bread to properly eat all of it. -0.75 Stars $16 Corned Beef and Macaroni and Cheese Delicious. Really good corned beef, the noodles were well cooked and cheesy, and there was a great deal of breading. I think a bit more chives or green onion would have gone a long way. -0.25 Stars $17 Fish & Chips. Delicious. Huge piece of cod with breading, good fries, tons of tartar sauce, a lemon, and some forgettable coleslaw. 4 Stars.
Service: Wasn't offered a to-go liquor cup when I had about 3/4ths of my Guinness leftover. Seems like a fairly obvious service to offer--With one of those cups that has tape on the top so it is legal to drive with. -0.8 Stars The waitstaff that took my order, gave me my beverage, gave me my bill, and provided a to-go box with 2 lids for my Tartar Sauce and Coleslaw was standoffish. Not particularly rude, but she wasn't exceptionally nice either. The kid that delivered my Fish & Chips and my Corned Beef Macaroni was very polite. Same with the gal manning the front of the Pub. -0.2 Stars 4 Stars.
Atmosphere: Really lively. The décor was great, the establishment was clean, and the place felt very...
Read moreAbby’s Irish Pub never disappoints. Took a group of friends here last week and we had a great experience. Our server set the mood with his Irish accent, thick beard, and welcoming spirit. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone pull off referring to a bunch of women as “My Darling” with such casual ease and respect. He even offered to put the cupcakes we had brought with us into the fridge and promised not to eat them. The food was also on point, delicious all around. Though the highlight at our table was the two orders of fish n chips that turned heads. Crunchy beer batter enrobes an entire fillet of haddock that has been fried to perfection, keeping the inside moist and tender. Everyone at the table had a piece and even the self proclaimed seafood haters praised it for not being “fishy”, which is hard to come by in our landlocked state. One even said she would order it “on purpose” next time she came in. As opposed to accidentally ordering it, I guess? There was one flaw found at the restaurant, I’m sad to say. Apparently they put the toilet paper roll in the bathroom on backwards so the paper hangs down the back. Which is a cardinal sin, or so I hear. Since our lunch, several of my friends have dragged their husbands back to Abby’s Irish Tavern, ordered the fish on purpose, and even shared a little with their darlings. Oh, and we did end up giving our server a cupcake. We felt he...
