The Worst Dining Experience of My Life
There are bad meals, and then there are meals so unforgettable in their awfulness that they make you rethink every dining choice youâve ever made. My recent visit to this Chinese restaurant falls into the second category. I went in expecting a nice meal, maybe even something worth the sixty dollars I was about to spend. Instead, I walked out with regret, frustration, and the certainty that I had just wasted both my money and my appetite.
The rice was the first sign of disaster. Rice is supposed to be the simplest and most reliable part of any Chinese meal, but what I received was dry, flavorless, and strangely stale. It felt like it had been sitting around for hours, maybe even days. If the kitchen canât get rice right, itâs a warning that the rest of the meal wonât go wellâand unfortunately, I was right.
Then came the chicken. Calling it âchickenâ feels generous. It was rubbery, chewy, and completely lacking in flavor. Each bite was a reminder of how much I wished I had just stayed home. Instead of being tender and seasoned, it felt like eating reheated leftovers that should have been thrown out.
The lo mein was the final disappointment. Normally, lo mein is comforting, savory, and filling, but what I was served was greasy and bland. It lacked texture, seasoning, and any sign of care in preparation. It was as if someone boiled noodles, tossed them in oil, and called it a day. At that moment, I realized something shockingâmy own cooking is better. And Iâm not a professional chef. If I can whip up something more edible in my kitchen on a random weeknight, there is no excuse for a restaurant charging sixty dollars to serve food this bad.
By the end of the meal, I wasnât just unsatisfiedâI was angry. Sixty dollars is a lot to spend on food, and for that price, I expected at least something edible. Instead, I left wishing I had gone to Panda Express, which suddenly felt like fine dining compared to this disaster.
In conclusion, this was the worst dining experience Iâve ever had. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, not even as a joke. If you value your money, your time, and your taste buds, do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs. Even my home cooking is better, and thatâs saying everything you...
Read moreFor this weekendâs daughter/ mom luncheon we decided to try this Chinese restaurant, a ârelatedâ restaurant to the Dragon King in Fountain, CO on the Mesa as described by the staff that this restaurant.
It was very good and similar to the restaurant in Fountain.
We went on a Saturday around 1:30pm and it was not busy. Wr each ordered from the lunch specials.
One difference was, no alcohol.
The service was good, but our soups were forgotten and we already received our entrees. The staff was excellent in their resolve to this matter and served them right away, and even repackaged them in to-go containers instead.
The food was plentiful!
We ordered the pan fried dumplings as our appetizer. They were perfect with a golden brown on one side (the picture shows most of them with the side not golden).
Lunch specials: My mom ordered the happy family, egg drop soup, fried rice and an egg roll, and I ordered combination low mein with a wonton.
Mom was happy, as was I. We both left with hefty to-go boxes plus our soup!
One small thing⌠Iâm not âthinâ youâll see from another review where I mention how tiny the tables were, anyway, I have a bottom, and a waist, a rather âfullâ body, and I did notice that I was not very comfortable in their booths. This again, is relative, as my body is different than yours. So the seating overall for me did knock down a star.
I also love me some house hot mustard and theirs did not disappoint!
Great, kind, friendly service!
Definitely recommend!
(Ate the egg drop soup roughly 4hrs later, I didnât refrigerate it, just sat it on the counter when I got home, didnât heat it up and ate it and OMG, it was...
Read moreI wanted to try them at least two times before writing this review.
The first time I ordered from here, I went into the restaurant and asked for a to go menu. The place from the outside looks like a hole in the wall but once you make it through the doors, its clean, nicely decorated and way bigger than you would think. The employees are incredibly friendly as well!
My allergies were acting up that day so they gave me soup and jasmine tea..which btw ..were amazing but more about the food later. I ordered 2 meals to go and waited a short while as they prepared it. The gave me our drinks while we waited as well. The price of the food is awesome ESPECIALLY for how good it is!
We get the food and say our goodbyes. We live close by, so it was still hot when we walked in the door. I ordered Szechuan BBQ pork and my SO ordered chicken Lo Mein. The noodles weren't soggy and over done and the pork wasn't dry and like mini coasters.. the food was perfect!
The second time we ordered it was delivery. We ordered the sweet and sour pork, Po Po platter, extra spicy Mongolian Beef and shrimp fried rice. Again, food was delicious and you can tell its not just made in bulk and sitting under heat lamps . My only complaint was with the sweet and sour pork. The pork was cooked all the way through but the breading was soggy around the pork but crispy on the outside. This tells me too much breading or the pork was still really hot and sweated the breading. Either way.. it was still good so I would order it again.
I am so happy they made their way up here from fountain. This area was screaming for amazing Chinese food and we...
