By far one of the worst experiences my family has had. The last time we were here, the restaurant was empty and after sitting us at a table, we were completely ignored and ended up leaving after 15 minutes of no service. We missed the chance to leave this time around.
Atmosphere:
Forgetting our previous experience, we decided to have dinner here. We arrived some time around 4:10-20PM, during dinner service. Should have been a red flag when there were only 3 tables occupied on Mother's Day. When we came in, we were greeted and asked if we had reservations, to which we responded with no. The young lady then proceeded to say she wasn't sure if she could fit us in, despite the nearly empty restaurant. She then manages to 'fit us in', and takes us to our table, which should have been the second red flag. There was spilled salt all over the table, didn't occur to me to take photos. I figured it wasn't a big deal, just brush it aside. A slightly dirty table was fine, maybe the food would be good.
Service:
The service was one of the most lacking we have ever experienced. We've had better in fast food restaurants. The young man waiting our table was polite enough, but wasn't very attentive despite there hardly being any customers. Never came to check up on us during the entire dining experience outside of telling us that our food would be coming. Had to flag him down for a refill, one we never received. After eating, we decided to ask one of the young ladies working to pass on to the kitchen that the food was too salty. She didn't seem to care. Not sure if she passed on the message, but of one of the kitchen staff was blatantly staring us down while we were at the front trying to pay.
Food:
It was not worth what we paid. I would be ashamed to have sent out food like that to PAYING customers. One of us commented that, with food of that quality we would have just shut the kitchen down and sent everyone home. We ordered the garlic bread and spicy calamari. The calamari was extremely small, it looked like leftovers, might as well have been. Nothing substantial enough to curb any sort of hunger while we waited nearly an hour for our entrees. The sauce was sour. The apps were on par with what you find in the freezer aisle in grocery stores regarding quality and quantity. Now for our entrees we ordered the spicy pasta with shrimp, spaghetti with meat sauce, and a spaghetti with meatballs. Keep in mind we waited nearly an hour for this. The two of us that had the spicy pasta and spaghetti and meatballs developed mouth sores due to how EXTREMELY salty the food was. It's been three days and we're still hurting. Ate as much as we could manage, reluctantly took the spaghetti and meatballs to go after three bites due to how salty it was. The spaghetti with meat sauce was horrendous. The meat sauce lacked flavor and had a strange smell. The pasta for both spaghettis were slimy. The spaghetti with meat sauce was worse than any frozen, canned, or school cafeteria spaghetti I had ever seen. We had some waters and two ice teas as well, no ice in any of our drinks. Wish we would have thought to take photos but were in a hurry to leave ASAP.
Overall, we will never return to this restaurant and will be letting everyone we know to avoid Cimmini's. The service did not make up for the poor food quality, and the food did not make up for the poor service. Not to mention it was supposed to be a special day. We paid $105 and gave a 10% tip, but were tempted to walk out with no tip, which brought us to $115 for a horrible dining experience. It's obvious that the staff there do not care. This wasn't our first time having such a bad experience with Cimmini's, but it will most definitely be our last. Hopefully they up their game, or maybe this sort of mediocre service is common practice now that no one bats an eye, but we will personally not be returning. If it was possible to give 0 stars, we would. We will continue to make the 1HR drive to North Italia in Denver. It's far, it's expensive, but at least the service and food...

The food is the main problem, and unfortunately the worst Italian I recall eating in the US. Ordered a caprese to start. Was as basic and cheap as it gets, poor quality tomatoes with the ubiquitous flavorless pearl mozzarella balls that you get at any grocery store, and no bread. What Italian restaurant doesn't accompany a caprese with bread? When we asked for some, we were brought a plate of sliced, completely soft and untoasted bread. Looked like they nabbed a $1.49 loaf of 2 day old King Soopers French bread, sliced it, and served it up.
The gnocchi was too tough in the center, just not cooked enough. No parmesan was provided, had to ask for it. It's an Italian restaurant for crying out loud...who's idea was it to not even OFFER parmesan when serving, especially at these price points? When it arrived, I was unable to use it, as the cheap powdery parmesan they had (which was probably from a shelf-stable non-perishable container) had clumped entirely together.
My partner's entree (veal served with pasta and vegetables) was borderline inedible and incredibly unappetizing to look at. A thin, grey slice of veal sat inside a pool of a completely liquid pasta sauce which engulfed every ingredient on the plate, yet left the pasta completely bare and tasteless. It was complemented by unseasoned steamed vegetables that had lost all their texture after sitting in a half inch deep layer of watered down pasta sauce.
I'm in shock that this place has 4.7 stars. I hope that's not a testament to the quality of food in this area. Will...
Read moreI'm in shock that this place has 4.7 stars. We were there for dinner tonight and had such a bad experience. Our server Jordon had such a sad face and never smiled at us. It looked as if she did not like her job at all. After she took our order for drinks and food, she hardly ever came back to our table to ask how we were doing, did we need anything else, she did not even refill our water. We had to ask for it. It was 3 of us and our bill was $97. I don't know how folks are giving such high rating to this place. I ordered the Gnocchi with Chicken (extra $8 for the Chicken) and there was hardly any Chicken on my plate. The Chicken was also dry and over cooked. My husband's Chicken Marsala plate was loaded with Pasta with a small piece of Chicken Breast and very little Veggies. The only thing which tasted really good was the Garlic Bread.
We have been to Italy and know how true authentic Italian food should taste. This place was no where close to true Italian. Sadly we will...
