Tasty selection of mexican standards plus some more unusual items. Where else have you seen a Pambaso outside of Mexico City? They make delicious birria with goat. There are also great central American dishes. The pupusas are made fresh to order with your choice of fillings. The 15 minute wait is worth it.

So since moving to Denver about a year ago I've been checking out all the delicious Mexican food and this is right up there with some of the tastiest I've had. Ordered four carnita tacos and a tamale. Both outstanding. Monika was our host and she was awesome. Will definitely be a return customer.

Awesome Smothered Bacon Breakfast Burrito. New to the area, and I've found my authentic Mexican restaurant!

UPDATED: Worst customer service ever. The new cashier (Venezuelan ) was super rude with us and other customers. She was upset all the time. PLEASE!! Don’t make your customers! Feel bad! We are not responsible you hate your job! She threw our food and she was mad without any reason! Many customers feel angry because of her disrespectful behavior! Definitely a RED FLAG to not come back to this place. Burrito was soggy and lack of flavor! Super disappointed! Not coming back at all! We wasted our time and money! and as a plus we were treated as trash! Never ever coming here!!!!

I used to love this place before! But I am so dissatisfied because the few times I have been back to eat Posole is not as good as it used to be. It lacks of flavor, the authentic flavor that one day hooked me up and the reason that I was always back to this place. It is watery and not with a lot of meat as before. I felt in love with Smothered Burritos specially the one with Lengua but the few times we have ordered those are super salty and not even as what they offered before. The chubby lady on the cashier is always on bad mood. You should be more attentive with your customers. It looks like you always “have a bad day” because you are not friendly are all. Like a business owner I am, I can say that customer service is the top and you should improve it because it is not fair with...

The owners man. Wow, I’ve dined here for a little over a decade and i wish i was kidding. I grew up in the area and have witnessed the change in ownership of la gaviota and i can honestly say the care and attention to costumers and service has exponentially depleted over the last couple of years. Not only that, if you happen to dine in during a busy time of the day you’ll definitely hear the owners yelling, screaming, and pretty much condescending their employees if you pay close attention. Not that it’s any of my business who gets yelled at or not, but the consistency of anger and almost petty behavior coming from the OWNERSHIP towards not only employees but sometimes hearing the older owner male argue with costumers over the littlest things like reheating some food

Promise you, if you happen to come into this restaurant for whatever reason you’ll either find an empty dining room or a semi full dining room with the owners being extremely unaware of their poor attempts of running a restaurant

EAT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN...

I absolutely love this restaurant. It's to me the most authentic place I've tasted really yummy pupusas and other items. They make the pupusas to order so they are always fresh (I make sure I ask without loroco). The employees are really nice too, and be kind to them if you only speak English, because they are trying their best to communicate with you and make sure you get your yummy food. I just learned (since I'm always eating in) that you order pupusas over the phone you have to pay for them over the phone since they are made to order, they've had alot of people not pick them up. So don't be angry if they ask you to pay over the phone. This is a mom and pop restaurant, a little hole in the wall, so it's definitely a treasure. I always order tacos, their tamales are delicious, and their breakfast is super yummy. Even their hamburgers...
