Debbie’s Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Columbia

Visiting from Houston, I normally go to Wards when in Colombia. I was advised to try Debbie's today and it must have been an angel in human form! I ordered the Belly Buster original burger. To put it plainly...it was the Best Damn Hamburger I had ever had in my life! Hand down no competition! Sorry Ward's, I won't be coming back. I often frequent the high end burger spots back home and I can honestly say that Debbie's CANNOT be touched! I regret not knowing about them before now,but I will definitely be taking advantage of the Big,Fresh, Tasty Homemade burgers for the remainder of my time here in Columbia. Again I must say that their burgers are the best that I have had in my 50 years on this earth. Don't waste your money going anywhere else it would be a foolish decision to do so. These burgers are so good they should be illegal! So don't cheat yourself Treat yourself! Columbia you have a treasure...

I had the roast beef poyboy with Cajun fries and my spouse had a dressed seasoned double burger. This is the closest thing to a home cooked roast I've ever had from a fast food restaurant. Very juicy and delicious 😋 The wait times are usually only 5-15 minutes depending on how busy they are. I also really like their fried chicken salad!!! It's a toss up everytime I go as to which one I get because they're both soooo good. Their old fashioned hamburgers are the main attraction here, but they also do a special every day for lunch. Something for everyone, and I haven't tried anything that was not good from this little place. I've been eating here for years, and will definitely continue to do so. We read about this little place and decided to try it… very busy at lunch time and the staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable but… and part of this is entirely our fault I will admit.. the cheeseburgers we ordered with no mayonnaise came drowned in ketchup and mustard! We were not asked if we wanted those… we don’t like ketchup on a burger! So some of that was our fault… I drink unsweetened tea and ordered it… Jim has half and half… mine was sweet! Not terribly sweet but if you order unsweetened that’s what you should get! I asked her to get me some unsweetened.. it was exactly like the first glass! Not good! The cheeseburgers would have been pretty good if not for the over done condiments! Not a bad place but it wasn’t what we expect. Probably will go back and be very specific...
