The view of this place is amazing. The marg was a little weak this time compared to last time. Furthermore, my experience at the same Las Margs a few weeks later was horrible. I placed my order for the item that is pictured below which I received on my first visit and was completely happy. Nevertheless on my most recent visit on Labor Day, Jace provided me with a horrible experience. I ordered the same exact meal and it looked nothing like this meal. Jace reluctantly offered assistance and instead complained about how they were short staffed and even went to mention the manager was in the kitchen with a torn Achilles cooking (maybe that had something to do with my service was bad). I mentioned to Jace I was supposed to have quest on top instead of the enchilada sauce that somehow ended up on there. I asked see a menu to show Jace that it was listed that way. Instead Jace proceeded to the short staffed kitchen and returned with a side bowl of queso and remarked “we usually don’t do this” and handed me the queso. On the menu my order clearly stated it was covered in queso. Jace did not one time ask how could he fix my order instead he insisted on me eating my food as is and it was $20 I didn’t want to spend. His service and commitment to exceptional customer service has led to me not wanting to visit this restaurant anytime in the near future. Considering the last visit the server was super nice the server this time showed the customer service level that he would usually be off, but he had to work on the holiday type of service. Choosing to spend my coins in this establishment and having to experience a subpar server experience is the last experience I want on my bucket list. The lack of attention to detail and Jaces negligence to service the customer is not a good experience. As stated, precariously the food and the experience was okay, yet Jace should maybe be washing dishes instead of assisting customers because he doesn’t understand a customer first model. I refuse to revisit this place as I’m afraid of the service I mean receive when the server is...
Read morePlease DO NOT EAT HERE if you are a person of color ! This restaurant is one of my family’s favorite places to eat at after a busy day. First problem we encountered was that we came in and were told it was going to be a 5-10 minute wait (the restaurant was empty). We got seated and placed our orders. When I received my plate the nachos were cold and disgusting ! I asked to get something different so the manager came over (already visibly upset) and asked me what I would like to do. I asked him if I could get my meal replaced and he became even more upset but now he is directing it towards me. He agreed to replace my meal and stormed away from the table. I followed him and asked him to not make my food, at this point I have lost my appetite and no longer wanted to eat. He proceeded to become more and more upset with me and walked away from me again into the kitchen . He finally came out the back of the restaurant and I tried speaking to him again. He continued to speak/yell over me and threaten to call the cops on me. My family heard the commotion in the empty restaurant and proceeded to come over to understand what was going on. He immediately started yelling at my family, saying that we were attacking him and called the police on my family. After calling the police another manager came over and they spoke in Spanish (thinking we wouldn’t understand). He proceeded to tell the other manager that my family were “acting like typical black people” , we’ve been difficult since we’ve walked in the door and that he “doesn’t care for our kind” (referring to African Americans). After hearing this my family decided to pay and leave before things got out of control. I didn’t receive the pleasant first time experience I was hoping to have with my family. As a general manager myself I would NEVER treat a customer the way my family and I were treated. Neither myself nor my family will be returning to this restaurant and I encourage if you are a person of color PLEASE DO NOT COME to this...
Read moreI am giving this one star because of my experience 2 hours ago. I may cool down and feel like giving a 2 star later. I still think their food is quite flavorful, the decor is attractive and the location quite tranquil. The service however lets them down. Most of the wait staff are polite but some can be aloof and appear disinterested.
I ordered a pickup via GrubHub for lunch today as both of us (Me and the Mrs.) had a busy morning and then had meetings at 1:00 PM and we live less than a mile away. We ordered a Fajita and a Pozole. The pickup time was between 12:15 and 12:25. I reached at 12:26 to pick up and then the front desk person asked me to call GrubHub and inform that they are out of Pozole. I was quite stunned. This was something they had to do and when they received the order, not when I come to pick it up. Being the agreeable person, I mumbled about my 1:00 PM meeting and asked them if they could just substitute it with anything else. The person disagreed as the change in order must come from GrubHub. I asked him once again if he could give me the chicken soup instead as that was a dollar cheaper. He agreed to that immediately. Then it was a long awkward wait standing next to the front desk. Both of us were trying to avoid each other’s gaze. After 20 mins of standing there the food finally came by 12:46 PM. I thanked the person and walked out without tipping (for the second time in my life). I felt somewhat guilty while driving back as it was probably not the fault of the kitchen staff. At that moment however I was terribly upset, picked up food which was a dollar less than what I paid for and did not get even get an apology for the whole ordeal.
The chicken in the soup was significantly overcooked or maybe had stock extracted out of them earlier. Other than, the quantity of food was decent and the flavors consistent. However, it still left a bitter taste...
