Came here yesterday for the first time with a couple friends. Actually stopped in first with a friend who'd been in the Liberty Day parade and got a couple drinks early and then came back after another local bar closed down unexpectedly for the night, forcing us back to finish out the evening with another friend.
When we first got here there were folks from the parade inside so it had a decent amount of patrons for 3PM. My first impression about the two bartenders was that neither was very friendly. Not that they were just blatantly rude but they both seemed really aloof like they couldn't have cared less if we were there or not.
The bar, itself, has ample seating both in front as well as back in another room tucked away. They have plenty of sofas, loveseats, and barstools throughout, so it accommodates more than I originally assumed from looking outside in. Their music selection was pretty stellar, too. A lot of stuff Millennials will recognize for sure.
I got a Jesse-wampuss and my buddy got a praline old fashioned first. He didn't have any complaints and the bartender made my drink a little less sweet since I told her I liked my drinks on the bitter side.
Then, they had a change in bartender while the first one went outside to smoke. I asked for a French 75 and the younger bartender (who said it was only her 2nd week there) brought us two of them. My friend didn't order one so I paid for his to be nice even though he didn't complain. They were absolutely horrible. French 75s aren't difficult to make. They're super uncomplicated, but somehow it was disgusting.
The bathroom, oddly enough, was the highlight for me. The wallpaper was gorgeous and I think I've seen it on a tiktok renovation before. The only issue with the bathroom is that when you go in, it's a logistical nightmare to get in behind the door to shut it behind you unless you're 112 lbs. I'm 150, for reference, so definitely not huge by Alabamian standards. I can only imagine how hard it is for other people to get in and out of it.
My bill for 3 drinks ended up being about $40 with an 18% tip, I believe.
When we came back a 2nd time, it was pretty packed because the other dive bar down the street closed early. Pity, too, cause I actually preferred it.
There's a lot of good aspects about this place but then some stuff that could use tweaking. They haven't been open long so they've got time to work on drinks and, hopefully, the bartenders' interactions...
Read moreThis bar has the perfect blend of atmosphere, great drinks and fantastic service. The bartenders know their stuff and the vibe is always right, whether you’re here for a quiet drink or a night out with friends. The bartenders JB, Meagan and Rachel are awesome! They’re so friendly and know exactly how to make the perfect drinks. Plus, they’re always on top of things, so you never feel neglected even when the place is busy. If I could give more than five stars, I definitely would! Hidden gem in the heart of Columbiana and is my new favorite spot! If you’re not coming here, you are...
Read moreI went last night for the first time and really liked it. Very good drinks (I might of found my new favorite drink), good music (no overplayed boring bar music you normally hear in small town bars), cool layout (just keep adding more with time), and the employees are cool.
Very nice overall, I’ll...
