We had a carry out of rib plates (my wife and I had a plate each) yesterday and ribs were just fantastic (yesterday was our first time there so we haven’t had a chance to try anything else yet)!! We’ve been to just about every BBQ places around central Alabama and I’d rate their ribs the best! And 2 plates of BBQ ribs and 6 sides fed not only my wife and me but also our 2 teenage sons as well. And they were little over $30 with 2 sweet tea. That’s a bargain! Now I was not too crazy about their coleslaw, collard greens and green beans but their baked beans and macaroni and cheese were delicious. And loved their BBQ sauce as well. Not too spicy, not too vinegary, not too sweet, it’s just a perfect blend of all the ingredients that compliments perfectly smoked ribs. We live in Birmingham but we’re definitely planning on going back there...

My ladies and I shared a HALF ORDER OF THE BBQ chicken nachos… mmmmmhhhmmmm… get those first before you order food! There’s your warning! 😝
The okra was perfect, you can taste the okra and the batter stick to it!
The onion rings were super crispy and light.
Catfish was fresh, crispy, flaky and full of flavor.
Green beans were the country style French but the way they prepared them gave them a little umph !!
My friends got a bbq sandwich and they cooked the fries just enough to make them the perfect kinda crispy. Chopped steak, Potato salad, and coconut pie on the other… very much an upgrade on the classics!
A fantastic bbq experience and that’s coming from a Texas girl who doesn’t eat at bbq places very often. This one… I’ll be returning.
Oh yeah, you know I gotta plug it for the staff… friendly...
Read moreWe have heard a lot of good thing about Tin Top so we decided to make the 35 minute drive to Columbiana and try it. I ordered the ribs and my wife had the pulled pork. Both were good, but half of my 6 large ribs were a bit on the rough side. The others were better, but not something I'd order again.
My wife said her pork was very tender and tasty. The sides were good, but I did not care for the tart slaw, my wife did. I upgraded one side to onion rings. They were good, but nothing special and it was a very small basket for an extra $3.
Our favorite BBQ is Saw's in Homewood, and given that it's more conveniently located, I'm not sure we'd make the drive to Tin Top again, except that we hear they have exceptional burgers, so we may want to go back...
