This is one of the cleanest, coziest restaurants I've been to recently! My husband, son, and I stopped for an early dinner after my son's bike race, and we could not have been more pleased. Our waitress was terrific--very friendly and kept our coffees and waters filled. We got a TON of high-quality food for the price. Soup of the day was beef vegetable, and the broth was thick and tasty. The fried pickles appetizer was DELICIOUS--a very generous portion, and the ranch dipping sauce tasted homemade. My husband had an open-face pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, my son had a Texas cheeseburger with fries, and I had a turkey (real slices of turkey--no lunch meat here) bacon avocado Swiss melt with fries. Everything was absolutely delectable!!! Coffee was hot and flavorful, definitely a step up from the usual industrial coffee you find at diners. Only thing we'd pass on for the future was dessert. On the flip side of our meals, the desserts seemed mass produced and not homemade, plus they were very expensive (about $6.50 for a slice of not-great pie and a very small scoop of blah ice cream). We got a slice of chocolate cream pie (tasted like low-grade pudding in a pie crust), the afore-mentioned slice of blueberry pie with ice cream (crust was more like bread than a nice flaky pie crust), and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake my husband thought was ok, but not terrific. In a nutshell, we'll definitely be back for the main meal food and coffee (we'll try breakfast next!), but we'll give the...
Read moreMy husband and I just went there for the first time todat. Skylar was our waitress and her service was phenomenal. She made sure our cups were full and stopped by often to ask how everything was overall. The food was great! I had their Cinnamon French Toast Combo and my husband had the Texas Burger and added French fries and soup for $1. He loved his burger; It had grill marks and was a really nice size overall. The fries were crispy and really tasty too. The cinnamon French toast may have been the best French toast I've ever eaten. The crust of it had some sort of glaze on it that added tons of flavor. You know how sometimes the middle of the bread is soggy and eggy? Well somehow the middle piece was buttery and delicious. The Pricing was very reasonable and the options seemed endless on the menu.
We left stuffed and definitely plan to make the drive back to eat there again. Definitely one of the best family restaurants we have...
Read moreDriving through Columbus we saw the parking lot was active and full so decided to give it a try. So glad we did! A man who looked to be the owner was on hand contributing to the service and harmony of the well-staffed restaurant. Watching our server, Ayla, attend each table with her attention to detail was a pleasure, and it was obvious the other server was doing just as well with our neighboring tables. Everything we ordered was cooked exactly as we requested. Crispy American fries with onions, were perfectly browned. Please don't well-cook the omelet, turned out a beautiful pale golden color. Bacon was delivered with any excess oil nicely dried off. We were served 2 bags of our herbal tea and Ayla made sure we had extra hot water at the right time. Reminiscent of "the old days" when I worked a diner and was proud of the food we served and making the customer feel their comfort was...
