I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Blu Note Jazz Cafe in Columbus, Ohio and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by a polite and attentive server. Throughout my visit, he consistently checked in on me, ensuring that I had everything I needed.

As I perused the menu, he made sure I was aware of their specials and offered recommendations. I decided to try their Shrimp Basket and Fries, and while the dish was enjoyable, I found the fries to be a bit too seasoned for my taste. However, upon relaying my feedback, the server promptly brought me a fresh batch of fries with no seasoning, which was a thoughtful gesture.

In addition to the food, the drinks at Blu Note Jazz Cafe were also impressive. I indulged in a glass of champagne and tried one of their famous cocktails, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere of the cafe was truly captivating, with its eclectic decor featuring records and CDs adorning the walls. It exuded a cool and laid-back vibe, which added to the overall experience.

The highlight of my evening was the live jazz performance by a band called Positive Energy. Their talent and energy were simply outstanding, creating an unforgettable ambiance. I truly went in with high hopes last night. The music playing overhead, the decorations and the food smell was phenomenal. The menu prices were average for the items they offer. Parking is limited. Luckily, we got there early. Unfortunately, we got Nadia as our server. She was one of the worst servers I have ever experienced. She served me one drink the entire 2+ hours I was there. She didn't even refill my water. We watched her check on other tables repeatedly but she continued to skip over us. She served food with no utensils. We had to wait until someone else brought them. She provided no napkins. We had to tear and share the one napkin that comes on the bottom of the utensils tray to catch the water. The food was okay. Not quite as good as it smelled. The band that started playing sounded like kids in the garage playing their own solos at the same time. The horn players definitely carried the little talent that was there. The ladies at the table next to us were so loud and ghetto, we had a hard time hearing the music sometimes. The nasty part was that there was no soap in the bathroom. So, how is the staff washing their hands before handling food and drinks? When we were ready to go, Nadia took forever to take our payment. So my friends came to her to pay. She sent them back to the table to wait for her. When she finally came back to the table, she walked away again without explaining why. After asking why she wouldn't take the payment she said her machine was about to die, so more waiting on Nadia. She was the absolute worst! I am still looking for a "grown and sexy" jazz spot to go to but Blu...

This is a nice chill vibe environment. Yes they have live Jazz music that is upbeat. Blu note Jazz Cafe is for the mature adult. We drove an hour to get there and it was worth the drive. The food was delicious seasoned to perfection and pipping hot when delivered to our table. Our hostess was very tentative and friendly. Left her a good tip because she was awesome. I definitely recommend anyone that is looking for a date night or a chill vibe to visit. As soon as you enter there is a hand sanitizer station. There are dividers at the bar to separate ppl sitting at the bar from the person sitting next to them. Everyone working there had on mask the bartender the chef the hostess and even the person sitting at the front door. To the person that complained about to go containers that is because of Covid and many other restaurants are doing the same thing. I know because other restaurants have served our food on throw away containers. Not a big deal when the food is delicious your not eating the container....I only gave four stars because the seating arrangement there should be someone seating people because there needs to be space between the tables next to where people are sitting. Or they should implement some type of Clear dividers at the tables until this Covid thing...
