Capital Motel — Hotel in Columbus

We found this place after a long day of traveling. We were both tired so we decided to stop in going off the 3.5 rating we saw on Google. When I went in to pay the night clerk was very rude to me. I asked her a couple of questions about the room and she acted too busy to answer them then proceeded to hand me my key and said don't smoke in my room. Very rudely. We got in our room and first thing we notice is the remote to the TV did not work. Okay not really a big deal. Then we went to use the internet check for the password at the front desk was able to login on our phones but not on my laptop that I needed to work on so I had to pay for Wi-Fi just to do some work. When we woke up the next morning we realized there was a used condom beside our bed. When we went to tell the same lady who had been me overnight clerk she got very rude blamed us for not telling them the night before and said to speak to manager but of course he wasn't there at the time. We left and then the following day I called and spoke to the manager he told me that it was too late to do anything and that he would be sure to tell housekeeping to do better. The desk clerk was professional and pleasant. As far the rest... The price is outrageous 95.00 for one night. I could have went a little further up the street to save 50.00, if I hadn't been as tired as I was, I would have, after opening the door to this awful smell. I had to spray the room and even fabreeze unstoppable spray didn't help. Went to turn on a wall lamp, it was broke, the bulb insert and the lamp shade we in my hand, i left it hanging (due to being shocked when I put it back on the base) and had to turn on the bedside lamp. No microwave, the bathroom sink leaks onto the floor, the toilet paper holder was broke, and for the price one would think they'd put shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Pictures have been taken(except for one of the horrific smell) and I will be contacting the BBB as well as an acquaintance at the columbus health department for a surprise inspection. I won't put the finger on the cleaning staff either, they can only do what the owner will allow and as well as the materials the supply !!! I recommend that people go a little further up the street even if your commuting...

You might rent a room there you might sleep on the same sheets somebody else did carpet flooring and everywhere else is filthy you might want to be afraid to sleep on the bed I spent one evening there but I wouldn't go back if you buy one night...
