Dante's is in the same strip mall as Weiland's grocery store, off of Indianola Ave. Great little mom and pop Italian eatery. Ordered a large Zucchini half Mushroom pizza and a hot sub (their version of the italian). These 2 items were ~$22, so definitely a fair price. Pizza was fantastic and the sub was good not great.
Based on photos from other reviews I thought the pizza was going to be more traditional style instead of Ohio/Midwest style, but it was thin and square cut.
You can definitely tell the dough and sauce are home made, pizza was super flavorful, crust was thin and crispy but not too thin, sauce seasoned perfectly, and a generous amount of cheese. This is also one of the few places that offers Zucchini as a topping and it's a welcome addition.
As for the sub, I found that there was too much bread, the meats were good and the italian dressing was excellent, but the amount of bread overshadowed the sub as a whole. Don't get me wrong, it was still good.
Overall I give the pizza a 4.7 and the sub a 4.3. Due to great pizza and reasonable pricing, I decided to round up to a 5, since Google doesn't allow...
Read moreDante's is a small, cozy neighborhood pizza place in Clintonville. It's one of few local restaurants not on High. The dining area is small but not cramped. You can also get take out. The pizza was pretty good, though I generally like a doughier crust. They put lots of toppings on their pizzas, and it was quality. All of our veggies were fresh. Our companions' pizza had a ton of meat toppings as well but didn't look greasy. Prices were fair and comparable to other quality pizza places around town. The waitress was attentive but not intrusive. Other patrons were very respectful and not too rowdy. Overall, we had a good dining experience. I don't know that Dante's would be in my Top 5 Cbus eats, but it's awesome to be able to support a small, local business and to not have to travel far to do so. There are also a few bike lock ups outside so you can ride their and work off some dinner calories. Of note, they only take cash. Hit the ATM first. They are family friendly and have...
Read moreGood, affordable, consistent pizza. Friendly staff. Pleasant atmosphere. What else do you need? *An amendment to original review. I took the stars down to four. I've been coming into Dante's consistently since 2020. I've had dozens of great pizzas from them. Last night, my pizza had burnt garlic bulbs. I called to complain. I paused a few times on the phone expecting a reimbursement, but I didn't get one. I thought I could cut around the burnt parts & then just recognized I'm eating small forkfulls of edible pizza. Whoever was cutting the pizza would've recognized that the pizza was burnt. There are plenty of pizza joints in the city. I'll just be supporting...
