Fitzy's was recommended to us by someone staying at our hotel. I really wish it wouldn't have. The ONLY good thing about this restaurant was the waitress, Christina. She was sociable and cordial. The food was mediocre. Soups [broccoli cheese and bacon potato] were overly peppered and tasted like mush paste. The BLT was skimpy 2 thin pieces of iceburg thin lettuce, one slice of tomato sliced in half, and two or 3 over cooked pieces of bacon on burnt white toast. My husband's fish dinner was an over cooked version of Gordon's fish sticks. The side salad was just your basic ice Burg lettuce thickly chopped with some toppings thrown on top. My son had the $13.99 strip steak. It was tough and greasy and caused him a irritable bowl attack in the evening. Fried shrimp was also mediocre and was probably the best cooked out of all the dishes. $52.00 for 4 lowsy meals and topping of the meal was the tears in the back of a brand new down jacket from nails protruding out of the wood bench seat. We chose this particular bench seating as it looked like the least worn, clean seating and the waitress suggested to sit away from the door as the restaurant was cold, leave your jacket on. I am extremely disappointed by the whole experience. I now have feathers all over my car seat and backpack suitcase. The only thing the waitress was able to do was give me tape to seal the wholes that tore as I was moving in and out of the bench to let family out of the seat. I asked to speak with manager and she told me that neither the manager or owner was there. The tape flew off the jacket before we even got to our hotel room. I do NOT recommend this restaurant for dinner nor for...

The owner not so much. I really struggled in deciding whether to write this review or not. I would hope no one would be treated like I was this morning by the angry and exceptionally rude owner. I asked for additional seasoning on my potatoes and was accosted with the cost. When I advised he could charge me more if need be, he told me to do it at home. If it’s about cost that’s fine, name your price. If it’s about something else, that has nothing to do with me. I’m someone who believes in supporting small business but a restaurant is not a business without customers. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe that’s his general disposition. I did not deserve to be spoken to in that manner over salt and pepper.
Additional Response: I find it interesting that you don’t deny being rude and unnecessarily aggressive towards me. There is a difference in telling a customer ‘Unfortunately, we do not accept substitutions nor do we make changes to recipes but we can give you salt and pepper packets, if you’d like’ and you saying ‘add it at home’. You may be a business owner but your customer service is severely lacking and you are clearly not respectful of a person patronizing your business. I hope that your attitude allows for you to keep your chosen demographic and that they alone can and will continue to keep your business afloat, since being decent and ‘excessive’ salt and pepper is bankrupting you. I find it concerning how offended you are when paying customers ask for salt and pepper. You should probably see someone about that....
Read moreGood, fast and cheap - pick two? Not here. The fast part was pretty decent, but that was about it. I had a dirty stove I didn't feel like cleaning before cooking breakfast, and being at the end of a cheat period/start of a renewed dietary program I decided to treat myself. Bob Evans came to mind with their rich sausage gravy, but I was looking to save some money and hopefully strike some gold with original flavor. Google told me this place was "not too busy", which turned out to be true, but I found the reviews misleading. My sausage steak, eggs, and homefries were cooked ok, but jeez even the sausage was bland. How? Then there's the little cup of sausage gravy that came with. It tasted like... flour. Thanks for the seasoned salt shaker, it was much needed and made heavy use of. Now I didn't expect (or get) coffee tasting like Starbucks, or truffle salt on my eggs or anything, I'm OK with a simple salt-based breakfast if I'm going to a diner, but with a 20% tip, this cost me $14. That is not a good value. The service was okayish enough although I did have to ask for silverware after my food came (and stirred the cream and splenda into my $2+ blah coffee with the straw for my glass of water when that came at the beginning), the food came up reasonably quickly, but needless to say I won't be coming back here for my next...
