Came to pick up an Uber order at 7:15 am, and I saw the older woman run to lock the door. I saw the sign and they weren't open, so I just stood outside waiting until 7:30 am since there was only a couple minutes until they would open the door again. The lady who locked the door came out and told me that they were closed right now. I just informed her I was waiting until they opened (in only 15 minutes may I add) to pick up the order.
Then, not even a second, she got another lady to come out, who then told me to look at the sign showing they didn't open until 7:30 as if I was dumb. I, again, informed me that I was just waiting on them to open (now like 9-10 minutes left) so I can pick up an Uber Eats. She left.
Then, finally, another man with no common sense, came out and told me the same thing and pointed at the sign as if I was dumb (I said the same thing 3 times by this time) @ 7:20 am. I, again, said I was waiting on them to open to pick up Uber.
He, then, declared angrily that he was going to cancel the order. I told him to go ahead and do so then.
Literally, only stood out there for 4-5 minutes before this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review would have had 19 donuts for me to show off, but because they are so delicious they sold out of most of their inventory before I was able to get there. š Honestly, itās probably good that I was only able to score one apple fritter because it would have been a pretty overwhelming temptation to justify practicing for my next eating competition.
All I can comment on is the donuts because Iāve never had any other menu item, but Iām sure everything is delicious...
As for the donuts, they are some of THE best Iāve ever had. They still make them old school, fried in oil, out of what seems like a batter made on site, like formerly good companies like Dunkin Donuts and Der Dutchman used to do. The fritter was crispy and sweet on the outside and soft and sticky and flavorful all the way through. THIS is what a fritter should be. And the fact that I recently had such a disappointing realization of Der Dutchmanās downfall (reference my review) makes this all the sweeter.

No advertising. PETE DOESN'T NEED TO ADVERTISE!! One visit and you'll be convinced that the drive to the South End, Lockbourne Road, is very much worth the effort.
I have no clue about the preparation of Pete's biscuits and gravy; I just attest to the fact that it is more than likely the absolute best biscuits and gravy in town.
CASH ONLY! That's my biggest concern. I never carry green paper money so that's a difficult thing for met to remember about Pete's Golden Donuts Diner.
