Simply Plated Catering — Restaurant in Columbus

I try to avoid leaving bad reviews and instead provide feedback directly to a company. But two attempts to reach out have gone unanswered so I feel compelled to let others know my concerns.

We used the drop off catering option for an event. The food arrived 30 minutes late. The driver called to me know she had run into traffic and would be there as soon as possible which I appreciated. She arrived right as the guests were arriving and she was friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately the cold food arrived warm and the hot food arrived cold. I had purchased food warmers to place the warm food into but since the food was late and cold upon arrival, there wasn’t enough time to rewarm the food for the guests.

The food was just okay, not great. We ordered the meatballs, Mac and cheese bites, pinwheels, fruit and cheese platter, and Caesar salad skewers. The mac and cheese bites were very bland and the meatballs were over cooked. Several guests told me they did not enjoy the food which was disappointing to me as the host.

I shared this feedback with the company the day after the event and they said someone would follow up with me, but it’s now been two weeks and I haven’t heard from anyone despite reaching out a second time.

I cannot recommend Ashley and her Catering Company more. 5 Stars!! We recently had 45 people over for our 35th Wedding Anniversary Party. We have never had so many guests specifically compliment us on the flavors of the Food we served them. They particularly mentioned they liked the Chicken Florentine, Salmon, Mac & Cheese, Asparagus and the small round Cheesecakes as their favorites. Ashley was great to work with, recommending some of her more popular dishes and how much quantity we should order. Even after we contracted with her for our party, she checked in with us a couple of times to insure there were not any adjustments to the numbers, schedule or menu. The day before the party and again the morning of our party, she confirmed her delivery timing. When she delivered the food, my wife and I were scrambling to get last minute tasks done and rather than just leaving off the food, she jumped in and set up our sterno sets and the special Food servers we had and organized the line of Food and Appetizers so we could attend to other things. I ordered Simply Plated to cater my New Moon Positive Party (PositiveParty.co). The food was really good and I got many compliments. She brought plates and serving utensils just in case I didn't. She was early (beat me there lol) to the event center to set up the food area while I did the rest.

Even prior to me booking, she returned my phone call very quickly to answer my ALL of questions. I had plenty and she didn't appear to be annoyed 😄.

The only thing that was a minor inconvenience was that the shrimp was tail-on, which is fine is you're eating it as cocktail or with other dipping sauces. I chose to have shrimp alfredo so it was a little awkward eating shrimp that way with my noodles. However, the great customer service and good food made up for that! 5/5.
