Food was great! Reason for the two stars and not one.

We went for a Father’s Day lunch and the server had a side plate filled with four sides of ranch, and a few other dishes. She got startled by her surroundings and dropped the ranch on the ground between my husband and I, and right in front of our dog. The open ramekins of ranch went everywhere. My white dress got splattered, it was in my hair, my husband’s seat and pants got hit, and it was all over my dog who had just gotten a bath.

I fully understand that things happen, previously being a server myself. But the server just walked away. We’re trying to clean this up with only a few napkins. 5-7 minutes later she comes back with more ranch and offers us one towel. Again, there were four ranches and they were everywhere.

The lack of attentiveness to the situation was borderline appalling. There also didn’t take any corrective measures. Just a towel. The fact that we weren’t offered a drink or desert - or even more cleaning products - anything for the trouble was really frustrating. Then a few minutes later, I saw the same server again trying to carry more than she could handle properly, which of course frustrated me more.

Please take better care of your customers, learn from your mistakes, and a gesture of good faith would have...

When we arrived we were greeted warmly as returning customers. The greeting was negated by what happened later.

When we were asked how the mushroom was, my friend commented that it was disappointing and had barely one mushroom on the whole thing. The response "Well you'll know not to order that next time" was annoying. I will not worry about not ordering this item because I will not return.

The server may have been the manager. Don't know or care now. We hadn't asked for a refund or complained, my friend merely responded politely to the question: How was it?

I have waited a few days before posting this because I wanted to think about how we could possibly have been mistaken. We were not mistaken. This was straight-forward rudeness. The server (manager or not) simply did not care.

As for the beers, the selection and quality are both inconsistent. I've enjoyed some but never been really impressed by anything.

I've had quite a few at this bar since it opened, and I've enjoyed most of the evenings. And on a sunny day the back outside area is wonderful. But I really can't see us going back. There are other places where the servers are happy to serve without smart comments, and I am happy to tip for a...

Pizza -- Wow. Great pies. Thoroughly enjoyed their pizzas. The "Ohio Pepperoni" is in the running for the best pie in Columbus. Take Massey's/Tommy's pepperoni and add some delectable basil and honey and you have yourself a genius combination. The "Southwest" is a very odd combination of corn, sour cream, etc. but it works very well. Our group loved the pizza here.

Beer -- Good beer. Poor selection. These guys seem to be into sours. If you're in love with sours, this is the spot for you. Otherwise, there were only 4 non-sour beers on the menu. The group of friends that we went with was not into sours, and therefore the selection was quite limited.

Bar -- Whoever stocks this bar has really good taste. Nothing but quality liquors behind the bar. A really good Bourbon selection. Personally, I am allergic to beer and it was very exciting to see such a good selection at a craft beer place. They make a pretty decent Old Fashioned too!

Ambience -- Can be improved. We went on a colder day, and the place was freezing. Essentially, this is a converted garage space with an enclosed patio. Probably super dope during the summer. Not so comfortable on a cold evening in March. Turn...

Brews were great and I highly recommend the apple fritter sour. I will be back - I tried the pumpkin, which was ale-forward with nice pumpkin pie aromatics. Apple fritter sour was very good; tart and earthen with possibly a lactic acid sourness and a great warm depth on the spices. The hazy IPA was also complex and almost hempy in flavor. Food and service left some to be desired. All in, I recommend this as a drink-only place. Love the environment. They offer this program where you buy a mug and lock it up there for the year, and get potential discounts on drafts. For food I got hummus and pizza. I never saw someone give 4 triangles of pita for a hummus. It may be a cardinal sin. The pizza was tangy and good with a thin, cripsy crust and overall a good value. Hummus, don't recommend. Service was initially attentive but then sat for a long time waiting for a brew. I recommend applying the same model to food that is demonstrated with brews: quality over quantity. Offer a small menu but a very high quality, and unique. Also recommend offering paper menus for folks that don't have cellphones, and faster paced service for drinks that go down quickly. I'll come back.

We visited Somewhere In Particular on 1/29/21.  We had somehow managed to not go here previously.  One of the most accurate menu descriptions of beer flavors we’ve ever seen.  I had read previous comments about the sourness of the beers but that was not our experience with their brewlist.  We had both the Strawberry Vanilla Sour and the Sip Life In The Lime Light and did not think that they were at all a ‘puckering’ experience.  Certainly nothing like what we’ve had at other places.  Both of these sours were quite drinkable. The Lime Light was much appreciated by a couple of people in our party who really liked its lime flavor; it reminded me of lime-flavored tortilla chips.  Some griping about having too many IPA’s on the menu but we sampled all of them and they were all very drinkable.  Studweiser was judged to be a good average lager.  Feast For The Common Dead was judged to have an excellent balance between its roasted and chocolate sides.  Also, foodwise we enjoyed their offerings and had a couple of their pizzas which were excellent.  Their candied "Crack Bacon" was quite the experience and was a great accompaniment to any of their beers.

Finally made it in to try this place after driving by it a hundred times and saying we need to check it out. Well, we are so glad we did! First time in, we each tried a flight of beers, and each of us loved all four that we chose. The server was very helpful and gave us his valuable input on the menu choices. We settled on the French Dip sandwich and a Spicy Ohio pizza. Both were awesome bar grub to pair with some excellent brews. We went on a Sunday evening, so there was no wait to be seated, but a nice gathering of people watching pro football and hockey on the flat screens positioned around the room. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back!
