I should give this location a zero! My son cancelled his account mid July and the contract had already ended. His last visit was May 24th to utilize the membership. I knew he could use it for 30 days after cancelling but he did not. I looked today and the charge was pending to come out of my account. I spoke with Shawn. Shawn implied my son lied to me about cancelling the membership. He is 19 and extremely responsible. He is a manger at work and just recently purchased a brand new car on his own with good credit! I immediately asked for a manager. Matt got on the phone and was worse than Shawn. I asked for corporates number and he told me they could not give it out so I told him I would google it. I asked for the physical address of the location and he said you can google it. What an ass! I told him I was coming in and hung up.
I thought when the account was cancelled they refused paperwork, I was wrong. My son works in one of the stores in the plaza so I went to his location first. He said he did sign a form and they gave it to him but he no longer has it. You see he knows some of these guys from working near them. He trusted them.
I got to the store and demanded to speak to Matt. He asked me my sons last name and I told him he should have had the information ready because he knew I was coming in. He stated it was on a computer behind him. I told him he was incompetent and he thanked me. He filled out the form and asked for my signature. I took the form to my son and had him sign it. I signed as well and made notes. Under office staff only where Matt had written the cancellation date I put the date in July.
I took the form back to Matt and he signed it. I did not immediately see his signature and asked him where it was. He stated it was in the office only section. I wrote his name next to his signature on my copy and told him it was because I could not read his signature. I was leaving and one of the snarky teeny blooper female employees stated to have a nice day. Not in the true have a nice day way but rude and condescending. I stated "F you" and continued walking out. I heard the nasty comments they started to make and said "F you" again.
I left the store and went back to my son. He said the yellow carbon I had was what he was given to him in July. I came home and disputed the charge with my bank.
I cannot get through to corporate right now but will be to learn of the owners information because it is an independent location.
Lesson learned. My son only chose this facility because he could walk to it from our home and was saving for a car at the time.
I would give this location negative starts if I could! I will be posting on Yelp and their facebook page....

I'm a new member at planet fitness bethel road, Columbus ohio .
I've been really enjoying my workout until today , the woman who was in charge of the shift / customer service didn't let us enter without wearing a mask noting that all the time we do wear a mask and we are always respectful and understanding to the rules and regulations.
I requested a mask to enter because I dropped mine on the floor and I didn't have one , I saw a box full of masks in the drawer and she kept telling us we gave you one the 1st time we can't give you another one . How is that acceptable ? Letting a customer go and be unmotivated because of a mask noting that masks are available to her and we are paying for every single service we are accessing as black members who entered and refer friends . Especially that we didn't mind wearing one in the first place , we are and will always be very cooperative
The colleague was as well next to her wanted to give us a mask and sounded very nice but she looked like she was the one blocking the initiative and insisting on making a scene
Noting that all the members are maskless in the arena , and they are few steps away from the door where it's requested
Sorry but this is not a way to deal with customers especially that I've seen members entering without a mask with no single complaint...
Read moreOut of towner here, was looking for a place I could keep doing my training during the holidays, which is based mostly with kettlebells. Showed up to that location, and wasn’t expecting much, but gave it a try. Explained my case, they were nice with me and took the time to give me some options to accomodate my quick stay here. I then asked if they had a set of kettlebells and they said yes, but we keep them behind, cause supposedly people leave with them…. I didn’t think much about it, behind meaning behind the gym or somewhere far from the exit door. Fine.
I decide to just take the day pass which is 20$, and once I’m ready to start my training, I asked them where are the KB, and they open a small door behind the desk with a 10lbs, 15lbs and a 30lbs… I was like where the whole set, and she says that’s the set. Well it won’t work for me, I thought you had a full set, and she is starting to suggest me to stack kettlebells together to make it heavier. Long story short, she had no clue what she was talking about, and I asked a refund, and she said no. Everything was fine til that moment, which is really bad customer service. I should have just trusted my gut, but was optimistically hoping a gym of that scale would have at least an understanding of what kettlebells training is. No more Planet...
