I have been here many times before. It can be a good deal if you are hungry, as it is a buffet and they have many options including chicken, salmon, crab legs on certain days, fried and steamed rice, noodles, soup, and your usual Chinese restaurant appetizers such as egg rolls, crab rangoon, steamed dumplings. Some of the items are quite good and a good deal. I really like the stuffed mushrooms and their green beans.
Unfortunately, the last time I went here which was about 3 weeks ago (early July) on a Sunday evening, the Teriyaki chicken kebabs tasted like they were made with rancid chicken, and it was inedible and concerning. I didn't eat it out of concern. I don't understand how the person who prepared these items could not have noticed the awful smell of bad/rancid chicken while preparing it and I'm not sure how other people in the restaurant wouldn't have noticed. I see that someone else wrote that chicken they got on a Saturday night around the same time tasted like sanitizer, which is alarming too. To the restaurant's credit, the restaurant did seem to take my concern seriously after I let them know. This is the first time I've noticed an issue like this here, so I will probably give them another chance eventually, but rancid chicken is so off-putting and concerning that it will be a while, or maybe I won't be back which is disappointing too.
Another totally unrelated comment, it would be wonderful if there was a section that was for folks who are not eating with children, because there are often groups with loud children at the restaurant, and I prefer a peaceful area when...
Read moreFantastic food! Hot and delicious! Nothing overcooked, unlike how some other Chinese restaurants do in small market areas.
You would have to drive to Omaha find similar fare. I know because we do. Super Buffet can give some of those big city restaurants a run for their money.
The steam table trays were kept fresh and filled. The sushi bar was excellent. They also offer American fare including steaks and chops. (Though to be honest, being raised in Nebraska, these items were not to my liking. They would serve to satisfy a fellow diner whose pallet leans toward such.)
The hostess was friendly. The wait staff was attentive and courteous....be sure to tip. They are worth it. (20% is customery: total bill X 2 ÷ 10 then roundup.)
As a qualifier, my wife and I eat a lot of Chinese. (My wife's grandmother was full Chinese.) Between the two of us, we have eaten in Chinese restaurants from Honolulu to Kansas City. Super Buffet is in the top ten of those restaurants. In this area, Super Buffet is in...
Read moreAnyone that knows me knows how particular I am when it comes to Chinese food. I love it.. but I need it to be real and authentic.. not just thrown together by people who don't understand Chinese food. That being said.. this is DEFINITELY a spot that I would recommend to others. I am looking forward to being able to visit this restaurant again in the future. The buffet is very well maintained and they have a very wide variety of dishes to choose from. The bathrooms are cleaned and checked by the staff on a regular basis to keep them that way. The staff is very friendly, efficient, and accommodating. My daughter has a severe social anxiety. The lady that took care of us was very understanding and quickly moved us from the main dining area to a more secluded area to ensure that she was comfortable. My family is very grateful for that as well as her checking to make sure that everything was taken care of for us. We were all very impressed and pleased with the quality of service as well...
