The food was good and the place was clean but I had to tell them 3 times how many people were in my party then they came at the end of my meal and demanded to see my receipt and tried to say i didnt pay for 2 people and did it in front of everyone in the restaurant which made me very upset if they had come to the table and said sir i think we made a mistake when we rung up your party could we check your receipt i would have been fine with that but to come to my table and demand my receipt and say in front of a restaurant full of people that i was trying not to pay for 2 people that doesn't sit well with me especially after i already told them 3 times when i first got there how many were in my party they gave me the wrong number of cups so i told them a 4th time how many were in my party so if i have already told you 4 times and paid my bill and have pretty much finished my meal before you come to try and fix your mistake and basically blame me for it and accuse me of not paying for 2 people that doesn't fly with me you should have gotten it right from the beginning before I paid the bill since its prepay and after being told already 4 times if you cant do your job correctly sounds like they need more training or a better system maybe bracelets for all the customers but it's not the customers job to do your job for you so train your staff properly manage your restaurant properly and dont blame your customers because your staff doesn't know how to do their job correctly I was a long time customer but I will probably never give this establishment my business again after the way I was treated it's a nice clean place with good food not much of a selection but the food is good but the staff needs better training not only on how to do their job correctly but how to speak to and deal with customers you dont accuse customers for staff errors and improper training in front of all the other customers in the restaurant very rude and unprofessional and turns away more than just the customer you are dealing with but all the other customers watching hope this place can do a better job training the staff because its usually a pretty good place to eat but they lost all my...
Read moreAs a family of four with two kids, and mainly vegetarian (we only eat meat that we hunt or fish for), it's a decent buffet. We always order the prairie pizza, which is basically a salad on a pizza. Wife mainly goes to the salad bar, while the kids and I go for the mashed potatoes, fries, corn, sometimes mac and cheese, some items from the salad bar, and of course, dessert. We've only been to the Pizza Ranch in Columbus, and in Norfolk. The Norfolk one is slightly better, as it has multiple HDTV's playing, chocolate and vanilla soft serve ice cream, and not just vanilla. They also have caramel and chocolate sauce toppings. The odd thing is that they always change the fries. A few years ago, they just always served potato wedges, or JoJo's, and they were always our favorite. However, a year ago, they started changing up the fries, and never back to the JoJo's that we liked. Sometimes it's not even fries, but potato chips. I wish they brought the JoJo's back. The Pizza Ranch in Norfolk also has a small arcade (which is why we've eaten at their Pizza Ranch), but the Pizza Ranch in Columbus will also have an arcade sometime in early 2024. Bring back those yummy JoJo's and I'll give this review 5 stars! ;)
Update (6/10/2024): The JoJo's are back! Giving it 5 stars. :) Also, the FunZone has been open for the last 2-3 weeks, they just didn't announce it or have some grand-reopening or anything. Better than having to drive to Norfolk to play...
Read moreThis is in regards to the New Kids Zone. I don't know how much thought was put into this addition. I presume the price was in the tens of thousands, which the kids aren't going to pay for. It's going to be their parents or their grandparents. I seriously doubt that anybody at Pizza Ranch went over to McDonald's and asked them when they built their new building why they did away with their play area for kids.
Also you would think after Pizza Ranch sticking that kind of money into their building they would have done a study to show whether it was feasible or not. Kids can be some of the most wasteful participants at a buffet. I don't believe some seniors and even parents of kids want to go there to contend with somebody else's kids because they're undisciplined and unruly while paying an exorbitant priced meal they can't enjoy.
For senior discounts you get what? 75 cents? If you're lucky. I know they offer a deal for seniors during their slow time. Very thoughtful of them.
Also I bought a Shamrock card where Pizza Ranch offered "buy one regular price buffet and get the other one for $7.99". I thought it was really a good deal until I went in to use the card. I was told "Oh that's a mistake. It's $9.99. And no, we're not going to honor the $7.99 even though it's either our mistake or the Scotus school's error." In other words you're going to pay the "9.99". That's the way to stick it to your customers.
Extremely...
