I stopped in for business, and ended up staying for the early bird special.
It was a spectacular value. 10/10 I do recommend. It was a full four course meal; I started with soup of choice, then a salad with a nice choice of dressings. I almost couldn't choose there were so many good options.
After those, I had chosen the Seafood Alfredo as the main dish on the waitstaff's recommendation. Again there were many good options to choose from, I was spoiled for excellent choices.
It proved to be my favorite thing. It was rich, creamy, and hot. It also had bay scallops in it along with the other seafood, which I personally love. I had to take much of it home. (Protip: reheat slowly with a little milk and it's perfect like when it came out)
The dessert choices were simple I remember, but almost unnecessary. And for the value of what came before, I wasn't dismayed at all and pickeda nice sorbet.
The only even tiny critique I would give was the timing of course presentation. There were plenty of tables, and I felt slightly rushed when I hadn't gotten through half of one course before the next was presented. But, that's personal preference I realize. I'm a slow eater, I like to savor the experience. Given this, I try to go when places aren't busy so I'm not taking up a valuable table space for a long time during heavy business.
Being that this was preference, of course I still gave above the expected gratuity. The staff was very nice all in all, and the recommendations were valued.
I paired my meal with a bottle of peroni, my favorite Italian beer. I was happy they had it, as well as the orange and lime slice I like to pair it with.
I paid ~$27 for this wonderful dining experience with a 27% tip included. A four course meal, an imported beverage, good service, and a quality atmosphere.
I highly recommend stopping by TaT's if you're in the area. There was a ton of options that looked good on the menu, and if the early bird special is any indication of the rest, I promise you won't be disappointed with their dine in...
Read moreOne of those typical ancient family-run restaurants where they haven't changed the decor in decades. Worn carpets tacky wallpaper and a strange assortment of Roman Catholic pictures and such. I was raised Roman Catholic but this kind of forces it down your throat along with all the family pictures. This place probably won't last another generation the crowd is usually aging and grey, when I look in the mirror I realize that's me too. It needs an update on the menu as well most of the dishes are so so and their tomato sauce or gravy if you like to call it is a little Bland. They do however have homemade noodles or spaghetti but the pieces keep breaking up into little tiny strands. You can tell most of the dishes come from Frozen ingredients nothing really fresh. Even the salads you can tell are pre-made and come out with a fork that is nearly Frozen. I once saw one of their Cooks go out to the grocery store next door and come back with some frozen food for his own lunch. I mean if the employees don't eat there why should anyone else? Maybe they don't feed their employees which doesn't make a lot of sense when you're running a restaurant. The coffee is a Saving Grace usually nice and hot. Their dessert portions are tiny. There's a couple brothers who must be in their eighties Who Run The Joint and are evidently stuck in their ways. It's basically outlived its location and its draw for customers. I guess if you feel sentimental you might go there if you're the type that misses places like the Kahiki out on the east side. Still I will go there once in a blue moon when I'm driving nearby and realize there isn't diddly-squat anywhere else to eat in that part of town that is...
Read moreI ordered a small pepperoni, onion, and mushroom pizza. The whole bottom of the pizza was black burnt to the crisp. Therefore, I asked Jane my waitress to fix me another one. I was more than kind to Jane the waitress it took them a half a hour to bring my pizza again. My friend had already finished her whole meal. I then asked Jane my waitress if they would take something off my bill. She said no because you already got your pizza. I had to wait half an hour for a new one. She was not happy about it. She did not want to talk to that manager for nothing in the world. She came back and said the manager said she’d take $3 off I said that’s not good enough. At this point, I was so disgusted. The bill is $23 for God sake when I told her I went to see the manager she did not want me to talk to this manager but she came out and she was so rude and she goes well. What do you expect? What do you want to happen you’ve got your pizza didn’t you? At this point, I was so disgusted with her attitude and the waitress how they handled this whole situation was so unprofessional! I was embarrassed for them.I said the whole bill should be taken off now for this whole situation that I just went through. Unbelievable. yeah sure, I got my pizza as they said, but it was burnt to the crisp and then I sent it back and it took 30 minutes for them to bring it again then I told her to just go ahead and put it in a box. My friend had already ate her whole Meal. The manager did not want to take and see how wrong this whole situation was. I will never enter this restaurant as long as I live. I’ve been coming to Tat restaurant for years. And never had I experienced something...
