This is a cozy size restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere and authentic food. There are take out, dine in and carryout options. Our party of 3 was quickly seated for dine in and drink orders taken. They have both inside and outside dining tables. The outside tables are on a porch like setting with a roof, no sides and facing Cleveland ave. The menu is on the smaller side with around 20ish options ranging in price $16-$30. Most plates include rice and beans. As 1st timers we were a little disappointed in the choices. But we are Foodies and pushed ahead ordering across a spectrum so we could try a little everything. We ordered: Carne Asada Al Grullense (steak with their seasoning and house sauce), Camarones Al Ajo (shrimp and mushrooms in garlic sauce) and Pollo Asado (seasoned chicken breast). We were blown away. Everything was excellent. Perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. Portions were also great. Also our service was wonderful! Not a single complaint. Time from order to table was in line with the timing to cook our dinners as it was ordered. Server was friendly, attentive and patient with our 1st timer questions. The owner (I think?) telling us thank you and to have a great night as we were exiting was nice. Don't be fooled by the small menu. The ability to keep your ingredient list small and incorporate them over multiple dish types, and do it well is great...
Read moreHad an absolutely lovely experience earing here on a Saturday night. I haven't had such an authentically hospitable dine-in experience in a long time. Amazing service, surprise tastes of new dishes, a visit from the chef, alongside great food.
We ordered the carnitas and birria and also tried the Pollo con Chipotle y crema, which the chef was testing as a new menu item. The beef birria was the favorite, but was more along the lines of barbacoa in style from my pov. The refried beans were well-season and a great consistency, which is rare to find. All dishes were very good. The housemade corn tortillas were incredible. We also were gifted their carrot cake, which was lovely, trifle style, and topped with a candied pecan.
You won't find a kinder team offering quality, comforting Jalisco food anywhere. The restaurant was super clean, colorful, and...
Read moreWent her for dinner and there was a weird and unpleasant odor. Inside was hot and the ceiling fans just seemed to be blowing hot air. There were no other patrons. The menu has colorful stickers inside showing the increased prices. The menu is limited. Not like a normal Mexican restaurants broken down by appetizers, chicken, steak etc. I was really not wanting anything I saw on the menu but I was there so I tried the chicken burrito. The peppers were crunchy but the onions long and soft. I dobt believe there was any cheese inside. We got a small bowl of queso it tasted straight out of a jar and the chips tasted stale. Overall...
