I work close by and have come to realize there are many taco trucks and Mexican restaurants in this area. And so, today, I decided to finally try one. Nonato's Kitchen is well reviewed on Google Maps, and I will be continuing that trend.
I had the birria with consume. It was very good. The consume is very savory with a bit of chili and tomato as a baseline. Then the floating bits of white onion give it a bit of kick to balance things out. Of course, the move is to dip your birria taco into the consume for that juicy, cruncy, cheesy bite. Oh yeah, how could this not be delicious?
The price is also extremely reasonable, especially these days. Fourteen bucks for 3 tacos and consume? Not too shabby!
The person at the counter was also very friendly when I asked her a few questions about the food. She made a recommendation and wasn't even afraid to recommend another establishment down the street. It's always nice to hear an honest answer that isn't self-serving. I will definitely check out her recommendation (especially since it's not in Google yet).
I intend to continue trying the Mexican food offerings in the area and I'm sure this one will remain at or...
Read moreThis is the 3rd location we've followed them to and after nearly 10 years they are still our favorite taco truck in Columbus. Quality of ingredients, their tortillas are better, and excellent birria tacos and quesadillas. We have loved everything we've ever gotten here, never a bad meal- and the family who runs it is lovely as well. We were closer to where they used to be located and now pass by 3 or 4 other pretty good places to get here, but it's worth going out of our way. FYI they are right next to where GFS (Gordon Food Service) used to be on Cleveland Ave, I always park in that parking lot and walk right over to them, it's usually a little easier to get out of the old GFS parking lot to turn left back on to...
Read moreI’ve been passing this truck for months and decided to stop by today. I am so glad I did. I got 5 tacos with different protein. All of them were SO flavorful. While the steak was dry, it had so much flavor that I’d still order it again. The chicken wasn’t dry, which surprised me (food trucks tend to overlook chicken in my experience). The wild card was the chicharron! Because of how it’s cooked, it was soft, not crispy like you’d think. The texture with the soft tortilla threw me off at first, but my goodness it was delicious! I’m definitely ordering multiple of those next time I go. The homemade tortillas were soft and warm. Customer service was top notch. I HIGHLY recommend Nonato’s and I can’t...
