Passing through Columbus and stopped for lunch here. I ordered the gyro platter. The food itself was delicious. I was happy with the meat, fries, and sauce. Perfect. :) I just wish there was more pita. I ordered the platter because I thought it would be more food. And I suppose that with the side of soup, it was. I was just disappointed that I didn't get very much pita. There were 4 teeny tiny triangles that maybe added up to half a piece. I think next time, I would just go ahead and order the gyro itself and add on fries. That would've been more what I was expecting. The lemon chicken soup was good, but it was a little thicker than I expected and there was not much chicken. I did not order a dessert, but the pastries and baklava looked absolutely beautiful and tantalizing behind the display case. Our server was also very kind, friendly, and professional. Overall, I would go back. And get dessert next time. 😉

Yannis is the best Greek food I have ever had. If you are considering eating here, do it. Their food is absolutely delicious and you cannot beat their price. The staff is very friendly, and they always make you feel like you are a long time friend. There are only a couple things that could make Yannis better would be of they had a better/ bigger location, as their sit down area can feel cramped during busy hours. They would also benefit from being able to order online, but they do have a call in ordering service, so I can't take any any stars for that. Overall, if you are thinking about trying Yannis, you really need to eat here, as they will not disappoint. Edit- 4/25/2022 Still the best Greek food I've ever had. Seems to be take out only for for the forseeable future. I've added up to date images of the menu to help everyone call ahead :)

The space seemed a little dated, there was a nice size crowd. We got dinner to go. The chicken hero was a hearty amount of white meat. The chicken was a little dry. The salad was literally the mix bag like they sell in groceries with some peppers, feta, olives and cucumbers added. Since I cools taste the preservatives on the lettuce mix, it isn't conducive to me eating that often or again. Their dressing was good, a shame I could taste the preservatives as the stronger flavor of the dish. My husband had the gyro and he enjoyed his hero. He also said it was not dry, and had a good amount of meat. He got a huge amount of fries with his sandwich- more than enough for 1 person. They provided cutlery, extra napkins, ketchup, salt and pepper. For the whole meal we paid $32.80

I know its better to tell the staff personally about the food and the experience, but when it's your first time, you don't want to come on too strong. Based on my culinary experience, my visits to numerous Greek restaurants, and based on my taste buds, I was disappointed with the some of the food and the overall experience. The humus was good, the seafood soup was good, the spinach pie was good. The cracker's for the soup were totally stale; mushy stale. The waiter seemed put off by it when I brought it to his attention. The house salad was from a bag. The salad dressing was good. The chicken kebab was under seasoned and was basically flavorless. The rice was lackluster and the fries were not hot. The waiter was friendly, however, he talked almost the entire time with another table as we were eating. It's great that he is social, but we would have preferred a more peaceful dinning experience. I ended up with the Mousaka and I didn't care for it, not to say it was bad, but the fact that it wasn't hot, did not help. As we were paying, the gentleman making a hamburger behind the counter, took out some American cheese. He laid it on what looked like a dirty wash rag. He then proceeded to put in on the burger as he finished cooking it. I was very put off by that. The guy at the front counter was very pleasant. We ordered the almond cookies to go. They were akin to putting sawdust in my mouth. They were beyond dry and perhaps they're supposed to be like that, however, it was an unpleasant mouth feel experience. The Baklava was very good. I would eat that again and again. This is a place I would go again to have the Baklava and a Spinach pie, but...

Trip advisor said this was a vegetarian friendly restaurant, and it is definitely not. The only vegetarian option is a Subway sandwich: plain roll, slice of American style cheese, shredded lettuce and some garlic sauce. My partner said that they've never tried their own sandwich before or they would take it off the menu because it's truly terrible. It''s not their fault that they don't offer vegetarian options, so that's just more of a warning for other customers and doesn't factor very heavily into my rating. However, when we politely asked the waitress at the beginning of the meal if it was possible to serve any of the many other food options without meat, she was very curt with us, like obviously there's no possible way we could do anything like that. So the service was a bit off putting, and not like someone trying to accommodate customers, or even just answer their questions about the menu at the beginning of the meal.

Otherwise, the food was mediocre at best. I think other restaurants, like The Happy Greek in the Short North for example, have equally as good if not better gyros. Friends ordered the dolmas and were disappointed. Overall, it was not the experience that the other reviews would lead you to believe and I wouldn't come back (me being a happy meat-eater who just...

I’ve been coming here all my life. The service lately is terrible. I dont know if the guy is racist towards Mexicans or what but he’s so nice to every table & he sticks us in the far back & didn’t come to greet us for 10 almost 15 minutes. It wasn’t even busy. As we were ordering I skipped over my words and he was like “do you need a minute”. He brought the food and then never came back. My husband & I never got a refill. I’m pregnant & I really needed another water. He took care of the other tables next to us & even made conversation with them but never came back to us. My husband was not happy & decided to just leave. We didn’t even get our bill. As we’re going to the front to pay, he hollers that he hasn’t gave us the check. I ignore him because clearly he can bring it up to the front. He says “helloooo”. I told him to bring it up here please. I asked the cashier for a to go drink since I never got another & she acted like she didn’t want to give it to me! $50 spent. For the first time I left a 10% tip. As a former server this hurt me to do but like come on. With 5 tables of 2 or 3 people your service should be top tier. After all these years, we...
