Updated: Received call back from Glenn (one of the owners) who spent the time to walk through my review and experience at the restaurant. He seemed understanding and provided a fair and balanced view of our visit. He asked for a second chance to make things right and email him when we were ready to give it another try. Really appreciated the offer and his candor. Updated to five stars as it is refreshing to see a business owner caring enough to engage with feedback both positive and negative. Thank you Glenn! Wasted night out for two for $120 plus tip. Assure anyone reading this review that we are not picky people, but normal people who like almost every restaurant we go to. From Big Boy to Bacco and Dickey's to Caya. Our normal restaurants were all booked so this place looked nice and thought how could we go wrong with the good reviews. Boy were we wrong. We should have paid attention to the bad reviews. Everything we ordered was pretty terrible. Even the scallops we ordered from the "Land and Sea" entrée were not cooked properly and only seared on one side. How can you screw up cooking a scallop if you are a professional chef? Obvious from the food that if there is a professional chef back there they either gave up on this place or were in the bathroom when we were there...Figured we would get the side Caesar before dinner...Wife even commented, how can anyone screw up a Caesar salad...Well, they did...The lettuce was warm, the bread cheese thing on top was stale or just bad and the dressing was tasteless. The brisket I ordered was just a bowl full of random mush with carrots and green beans soaked in a pool of a butter sauce like it was from a 80's buffet restaurant or nursing home and sweet potatoes, too much salt and other non-identifiable foods. Was so thirsty and nobody ever came by to fill our water so just wanted to get out. The calamari appetizer was fried nicely, but was pretty tasteless and just salty. Even the cocktails we got were bad...We ordered the "BG" Moscow Mules and they tasted weird like they put fake lime juice or some kind of lime drink in them or something, but far from vodka, fresh ginger beer and limes. Probably the fastest dinner we have ever had since we didn't eat much and just wanted to leave. Gave it two stars since it looks nice and the waitress seemed to be trying and was pleasant. Just get angry paying a premium for trendy décor and uninspired,...
Read moreThis place is horrible, we had dinner there last night and I really never complain if my food is bad but I’m going to from now on, when we go out to dinner I expect a good meal and this place is a joke and so are the cooks as they are not chefs, no chef lets food go out of the kitchen cold and under or over cooked , and I’ll bet that kitchen is filthy I ordered the ribeye rare and the only part of the steak that was rare was a big fatty chunk that only a dog would eat, the green beans were cold and crunchy and undercooked and the potatoe wedges that they call fingerlings were also undercooked hard ,cold and over seasoned and the meal is 40 bucks and doesn’t even come with a salad as they want to charge you 8 bucks more for that and my girlfriend had the grilled shrimp, the rice and shrimp were over cooked and I tasted it and I could tell it was precooked, and the shrimp was buried in the rice with the tails still on, it only takes a short time to cook that fresh, so how do your cooks screw it up, you should call bar rescue as a hot and ready pizza from little Ceasers is better then the overpriced slop you are serving and as for the staff, we were seated and it took 8 minutes for a server to bring us menu’s and the place was not busy and after our food arrived she asked us how it was and I told her the problems with the meal ,she left and came back and said the manager could give me some mashed potatoes and new vegetables or we could have free dessert and I said no thank you and she never asked to refill our drinks and yet she was still tipped 20% bottom line is this place sucks and the atmosphere is so lovely if your eating outside over looking the cemetery, very creepy, such great ambiance, such fond memories and if you want cold food just go to McDonald’s it’s way cheaper, maybe that’s the last place the cooks worked I want to know if a food critic has ever ate there and gave a good review and if they did they need to get a new...
Read moreWe went her for new years eve. Made new years eve reservations. We figured what a nice way to ring the new year with a fancy lunch. We walked in and immediately were greeted with confusion with the hostess and the table ahead. Something about merging tables. I stood off to the side as she she didn't need someone staring at them while she figured it out. Meanwhile another table walked up. I patiently waited while the table behind me announced they had a reservation for 5. All this time I watched as a group of at least 6+ servers stood off to the side. Side note. I immediately spoke up that I also had reservation. Not the hostess fault to a degree. She did sit us down first and asked our choice on tables. I honestly didn't care. We sat at a high top by the bar. The drinks were amazing. I woukdm go here again for those...fancy and delicious. I asked servere if she would.order the walleye (since I saw numerous accolades onlines) or the filet pasta. She said well if it makes any difference we're out of mashed potatoes...well I mean we're saving those for later. (I also heard in the background a server they out of creme brulee and went on to list other items). So, being the customer that's spending money in front of them meant nothing. Save it for.the customer that may spend.money later... specially since mashed potatoes can't be made... FRESH my pasta was good, not great and my husband said the filet mignon was the same. He also.wanted mashed potatoes but guess we were to early. I'd say a little above Applebee's. Overall, would go back for drinks not food. We came at the wrong...
