Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Commerce Charter Township

My friend and I went during our work break to get a small dinner. We intended on a quick trip so we could get back to work on time, without any punishment. Instead, we asked how much they made there to compare there to our job because we were looking for a second job for the summer. I'm unaware of his position, but cooper was very helpful through our entire time there. He had told us that he doesn't always work at that trop but also worked at another one some time away. He shared his experience with us. My friend and I were there our entire break and more having a civil conversation telling each other about each others workplace . He talked to us as if he was there voluntarily, enjoyed the conversation, and wasn't being forced to talk to us. Instead of rushing the conversation and getting free time to himself, he took up his time and told us how he enjoyed tropical smoothie. We were the only customers there so we weren't impacting anyone else. Him continuing the conversation led my friend and I to getting another smoothie each. He had mentioned maybe wanting to be a GM, and after my experience there, I would say he's more than qualified. Hope, Another worker present, was working her first day. Made an online order, smoothie was pretty much pure ice and tasted like water. Went in to have a remake, first of all was told to pay for the smoothie. I didn’t pay for it and it was put in and I sat and waited. Another gentlemen asked for his smoothie to be remade after me, it came out almost immediately. I sat and waited for upwards of 25 minutes for my smoothie. When I finally asked where it was, I was told they didn’t have one for me. Then they said I had 2 orders ahead of me, so ten more minutes. I finally got my remade smoothie and it tasted like it was just plain sugar water. Got home and the food was labeled wrong. The wraps aren’t different enough to distinguish between each other by looks, so I ended up eating a wrap that contained ingredients I’m not supposed to be eating. This whole trip took an hour of my day and the only thing that was good from this experience were the prepackaged chips. I work in the food service and have actually worked at Tropical Smoothie so I understand how it can be when it gets busy, but when every person who was after you gets served first and your order STILL ends up being wrong…is very frustrating. My experience was not bad until I tasted my smoothie and ate my Salad. I ordered a Detox Green Island smoothie, a Thai chicken Salad and a Thai chicken wrap. Where do I start?? The smoothie was not completely blemded. It was completely unsinkable. There were still whole pieces of spinach and kale, as well as huge chunks of ice. When I asked them to rebound it they said No. Later I opened my Thai chicken Salad, which had no chicken and I received less than a quarter full ramekin of dressing. I have visited multiple different Tropical Smoothies around metro detroit and this deffinately is not the standard upheld by other locations.
