Jin's Buffet — Restaurant in Conover

I called Jinn's buffet in Conover and asked if they had buffet all day, and was told yes. The associate said lunch until 3:30, dinner after. I took my elderly friend to eat there at 3:11 pm,and was charged for the lunch buffet. She is a slow eater, so she didnt go back for seconds until a while later. She came back to the table with a frog legg, excited to try it. We didn't think anything about it, but then a worker came up to our table and grabbed our receipt, acted like she was gonna write on it, and said So! You gonna to pay dinner price. You got food off the dinner buffet! My friend and I were both confused because we didnt know what she was talking about. We said she just got 1 frog legg and 2 shrimp. The worker said she can charge us because she is the manager, and that there was a sign and we should have read it. And then she disappeared. We saw no sign, obviously, until I asked three waitresses later where the sign was and none of them spoke english. Finally another waitress came and showed me the little signs that said dinner buffet only. My friend never saw the signs, and was sure they were not there yet when she got her frog leg. My friend is one of the most honest people I know. I did not appreciate that manager treating her like crap and embarrassing her like that. My family, friends, and I have eaten there many times for lunch. We just weren't familiar with the dinner rules. This small buffet is really good, we had a very pleasant experience eating at this location. They seated us super fast, offered us drinks, and all the staff was very polite. The food is tasty, well sesoned and fresh. The green beans, and other vegetables taste amazing. The frog legs, coconut chicken and dumplings were simply OMG 😱 🔥 ♥️ Our server was amazing, she said words in spanish and was really nice! ☺️😇 also the cashier girl. The place is in a plaza shopping, so the parking is super huge. The admosphere is super nice with beautiful families by all over. They constantly full, people in and out all time! However there was a family in front os us that make us feel really unconfortable, the father and the youngest one were staring at my husband, doing weird gestures. Please parents do not give your siblings bad examples, teach them to respect and you do respect the people you see not matter what, do not teach them hate behavior, skin color, etnicity or elses are not excuses to bad behave. Remember Hispanic people have been here forever, white people just came after Christopher Colombus arrived, so I think all of us can live here togueter IN PEACE. I used to LOVE Jin's buffet until they decided to replace their stuffed clams for cheese oysters. I give it a 3 since the clams were my favorite item :'( and the new cheese oysters do not taste at all good to me. The food for me dosn't taste the same without the stuffed clams. Also they are somewhat stingy about the time you get there. One time we got there about 15 minutes before dinner started and before we sat down we told the server I was going to get dinner items but my sister only wanted lunch and she was only going to get lunch items. My sister does not like the dinner items and we got there before 3:30pm so we obviously assumed she did not have to pay for dinner especially since they go to the extent of labeling their dinner items so that the people who get there before 3:30 do not get any dinner items and the servers also watch you carefuly to make sure you don't. So we told our server and she said even though she was not going to get dinner items she had to pay dinner price because it was "almost" 3:30. About this experience, I feel it is dishonest to not honour the said time to charge lunch and dinner.
