Undercooked Chicken, Overcooked Ego
Ah, 12 Moons—where the fried rice is rare and the management is even rarer.
We brought a group of seven to dine here because my husband and I have been loyal fans for years. I even ordered my “usual” (Fried Rice with Chicken) and was genuinely excited to dig in. One bite later… surprise! The chicken was pink, undercooked, and still clucking. I’ve seen sushi more done than this poultry.
Now, I’m not one to send food back—my dad raised me to just power through. But when your chicken still has an internal dialogue, it’s time to raise a flag. So we did. Sent it back. They remade it. No problem. Our server, Betty, was fantastic. Honestly, if Betty ran this place, I wouldn’t be writing this.
But then came management. Or should I say, The Great Vanishing Act. Betty said a manager would come talk to us. We watched two people who clearly looked like managers lurk around the table like we were in a wildlife documentary—but they never approached. One of them, we later learned, was Troy A., the highest-ranking manager on duty. His big leadership moment? Whispering “you’re welcome” to someone after refilling their water and promptly disappearing like a Vegas illusionist.
When the bill came—with my raw chicken dish still charged—we asked for a manager (again). Instead, we got a female supervisor who decided the best way to handle food safety concerns was to downplay it and imply I couldn’t possibly be sick because I wasn’t throwing up on the table. (Plot twist: stomach cramps arrived about 7 hours later. But what do I know? I’m only the one who ate the salmonella special.)
As the conversation spiraled, we were graced by the only two people in the building who actually knew what they were doing: Alejandro, the EMT (yes, it got that serious), and Carlos, the security guard. Both were professional, respectful, and did more for us than the actual management staff whose job it is to handle this kind of thing.
I requested to speak to Troy A., the mysterious figure with a name but no accountability. We could literally see him talking about us and laughing across the restaurant. So I went looking. I was told he was coming. Then I was told he was downstairs. Then I was told he had no office (??). Eventually I found the “back room” where he and the supervisor were hiding like teenagers caught throwing a party.
I asked to speak to him. He said no. He called security on me. (Carlos, again, a gem.)
So finally, I walked in with Carlos and told Troy I was the one served raw chicken, handed him the bill, and said: “You’re comping this whole thing. We’re leaving. And if I get sick, you’ll definitely hear from me again.” He nodded, took the check, and said… nothing. Not one word. Leadership!
In conclusion, the food at 12 Moons is tasty, (I’ll continue to dine there but I’ll be sure to inspect before consuming) But when your manager disappears faster than a magician at a kid’s party and your customers have to hunt him down just to be acknowledged—it’s time to reevaluate.
If you go, enjoy the ambiance, maybe try the cocktails, but don’t expect management to show up for anything more than a water refill...
Read moreLocated within the Snoqualmie Casino, 12 Moons offers a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Specializing in Asian and Chinese cuisine, this restaurant is a fantastic choice for anyone craving good quality, flavorful dishes in a dynamic setting. The interior is well designed, and the energy of the space makes it an engaging spot for both casual diners and those looking for something more refined. The restaurant doesn't take reservations, the seating is limited, and the wait time usually ranges from 15-30 mins. This can be a bit of inconvenience, especially during busy hours. The staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience despite the bustling atmosphere. The food at 12 Moons remains the standout feature. Their menu offers a variety of fresh and flavorful options. The sushi, in particular, is always fresh and beautifully presented, with the large Sashimi being a favorite. They frequently feature specials, adding an element of excitement for regular patrons who enjoy trying something new. A recent increase in prices and reduction in portion sizes has made the restaurant feel a bit more expensive. The desert options are quite limited, an area where the restaurant could improve. The mango Panna Cotta, a new addition to the menu, while light and pleasant, it didn't leave a lasting impression. A broader dessert selection would definitely elevate the dining experience. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday and Sunday from 4p-10p, with extended hours on Friday and Saturday from 4p-12a. This offers diners some flexibility, especially for late night meals on the weekend. Overall, 12 Moons remains a great option for those seeking vibrant Asian and Chinese cuisine, particularly fresh sushi. While the recent price hikes and smaller portions may discourage some, the lively atmosphere and quality food continue to make it a solid choice for a fun and flavorful meal...
Read moreCharging 18% with completely 0 subpar services with Manager John Lennstrom that don't even understands Asian Cuisines & or fine restaurant services. I even wonder why Snoqualmie Casino continue to hire him. Through the hustle and hassle, producing inedible asians cuisines, snobbish attitudes, disorganization, hostility, its sad to see this happening in our community to a very upscale restaurant
Dining in this Casino 12-Moon restaurant is liken to gambling on the casino floor. One day the food and service would be fine, next visit, it would be so hellish completely out, from missing shrimps in your order food to over cooked salmon teriyaki, undercooked and overcooked sushi rice, completely inedible chow mien poured with 1/2 bottle of soya sauce, over saltiness leaving your mouth with such bitterness, you thought you will die from eating the food... its just real nasty.
So the worse of this is that when you take a to go order, the restaurant completely refused to grand you a refund or credit, thinking you are trying to scam them off a $23 chow mien , when their cook perhaps poured haif bottle of soya sauce into your chow mien , probably in error- This casino 12-moon restaurant has a reputation of really 'cheap skate' attitude. So beware, dining here would be like gambling on the floor, you could fall sick from inedible food, and or go home happy striking a jackpot ... enjoy your risk eating here as every gambler should not be after a stressful time on the gambling floor .... coming in to eat should be a respite ... and relaxation , not another stressful encounter with managers at 120-Moon
I hope the Snoqualmie Tribal Elders are reading this review and take further action to remedy this very upscale restaurant that need 100% revamping of its management, attitude, image, food quality and...
