Enjoy this place, but here is some feedback given we spent over $200 for the meal for two…
This is our second time here, and well, we will go back again. But probably for happy hour, when they have a live person playing music.. it was so lovely the first time during our happy hour visit.
The steak was awesome. A 10 ounce piece at medium Rare. It was something we’d go back for as a treat. The red wine we ordered was wonderful. I had the petite Syrah and had two glasses.
Here is where I’ll offer some feedback to the chefs and service. The beet salad had a cheese you needed to scrape from the bottom of the dish. Because the balsamic dressing wasn’t robust, the cheese used was too bland resulting in an overall so-so tasting salad. I know my beet salads as I order them everywhere I go…. Either beef up the balsamic dressing or beef up the cheese selection that was used. With both items being tame, it took away from being a salad that I’d order again or remember as a great salad….
The deviled eggs, that was an appetizer, the yolk portion was on the heavy side and salty. I was expecting something whipped and light with an interesting flavor. Making heavy, salty yolk parts was something I can do at home..
And the butter and roll given, the roll was greasy.. or at least I needed the napkin to wipe my hands. The butter provided was a whipped normal butter with some sea salt on top. Why give such a fancy presentation for butter with sea salt?? Just give a pat of butter and call it a day….
Meanwhile,, the steak was awesome. The broccolini was quite garlicky , which I enjoyed , but my hubbie did not. It’s about personal taste. The broccolini was al Dante which it should be. But, my opinion was that the garlic used made the broccolini taste sweet. And I must admit I prefer the ‘zing’ of broccolini over a sweet, calm taste. Again, it seemed the restaurant chef(s) tamed down the taste rather than make it pop! I had my hubbie add some fresh pepper and that helped, along with their peppercorn sauce.
My husband is a big coffee fanatic. He likes dark roast and the coffee was definitely tame for his liking. Which makes a theme of the overall meal being ‘tamed down’ in flavor. Perhaps it’s the casino clientele vs people like us looking for a go-to place to eat and enjoy. It’s all on what the restaurant is trying to accomplish and its clientele it seems to appeal.
I enjoyed the dessert I ordered. After eggs, and steak, having small bites of pumpkin cheesecake hit the spot. I could have licked the dish!
As for service. Not horrible, but I shouldn’t be getting my second glass of wine after my main dish was over , and not being asked for a refill until after I was done with my main dish. Timing was a bit off. But service otherwise wasn’t bad.
Given the price , and certain foods were wonderful while others were okay, we’ll spend our money and time to hit their happy hour. We will return..
For anyone looking for a place to eat that isn’t looking for a casino atmosphere, we go for the food. We don’t gamble. And as a place around Sammamish, North Bend, it’s well worth a stop for everyone to try out their steaks…. It’s...

Yes, the capitalization IS intentional.
After reading a series of rave reviews, a reservation was made for an early evening service. Admittedly, an establishment in a casino was a questionable choice.
Still, optimism prevailed.
The menu posted online is consistent with a “steak house”; the prices reflect the same.
The entry spoils that illusion and the instant to flee should have been heard.
Instead of a formal reception stand, think “cashier at Denny’s”. Once inside, there is a bar, a series of banquettes on one side, tables and chairs on the other.
The menu IS extensive. The offerings, though, do not achieve their promise.
Appetizers in the $20 range, reasonable for what Vista aspires, entrees ranging from $50 to $170, more.
The calamari arrived almost immediately, in a golden brown, flavorless crust, with two indifferent dipping sauces.
A burrito salad, served on a chilled (FROZEN) plate, with its offerings ALSO frozen. The “prosciutto”, was think, rubbery, and inedible. The theme of Vista seemed to be “more is better, quality a secondary concern”.
There were lapses in course, presumably due to the large party ahead. The kitchen struggled to produce courses.
Eventually, the entrees arrived. A cut of Waygu beef, 4 ounces, cut thin to appear larger. An 8 ounce filet about the same size. Both were cooked, perhaps more than their “medium well” (pink inside) but acceptable.
The quantity of SALT was not.
If you are a heart patient, if you have sodium restrictions, simply AVOID this.
The “steak oscar”, generally an accompaniment server ON a steak, was a MOUND of inedible (again, SALT) “crab” meat with pillars of asparagus. This concoction was available to be forklifted onto the entree.
The portion may explain its $39 charge.
A decent wine list, an interesting dessert offering which went unexamined. The meal was a fiasco and the bill could not be requested quickly enough.
In defense of Vista, the server attempted to “make it right”, upon hearing of the SALT content in the Oscar. Regrettably, the flummoxed server misunderstood the feedback, did NOT clarify, and presumed the concern was in the Waygu. The server returned to advise a replacement Waygu was being prepared and upon hearing it was the OSCAR, retorted that it was already being cooked, that HE (server) was “not going to eat it”, and suggested it be taken with.
A rude exchange, understandably due to the oddity of the moment, but RUDE nonetheless.
The “view” may be of interest, however, schedule your visit in the DAYTIME when it is visible. At night, there is blackness.
Dine at your own risk. Frankly, just don’t bother.
The 2 star rating is in recognition of trying. Trying and...
Read moreMy in-laws wanted to celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary, as well as my 41st birthday with some fine dining. We managed to get a dinner reservation for 8:30pm on a Saturday night. It was my kids' first-time fine dining, so the ambiance was something new to them.
Our waiter, Tyler was amazing. Since they do not offer a kid's menu, he was able to off the kid's mac & cheese, as well as 2-piece slider burgers. I ordered 2 of the sliders (so 4 sliders in total), 1 mac & cheese, and a side of truffle fries for them. The sliders were perfect size, but holy moly... the mac & cheese was a whole serving dish and same with the truffle fries. The mac & cheese was very rich, and the truffle fries were very filling, that my kids couldn't finish all of the food.
As for the adults, my in-laws, my husband, and my daughter all decided to share the seafood tower along with the steak flight, since Tyler told us the seafood tower could feed 3. My daughter only wanted the Dungeness crab from the tower. She said there wasn't much flavor, so she was dunking the crab meat into the melted butter. The clams, tiger prawns, scallops, oysters, shrimp, and ahi tuna were all good. Unfortunately, the lobster was rubbery and overcooked.
For the Wagyu Reserve Flight, of course the A5 Miyazaki melted perfectly in your mouth. The Imperial ribeye was good too. The Australian New York was the one least liked. We had the chimichurri for sauce and the mushrooms for the premium side. Mushrooms were really sweet.
I ordered the 10oz Washington grassfed ribeye with horseradish and the side of baked potato. Nothing fancy about the ribeye, could've cooked the same exact steak the same way at home but on the grill. I liked how all the baked potato toppings were on a side dish, so you can put as much or as little butter, sour cream, chives, and bacon bits into your baked potato. Horseradish for the steak was disappointing NOT spicy; it just tasted like cream.
For dessert, one of my kids ordered a scoop of basic vanilla ice cream. My in-laws ordered the white chocolate cheesecake. My daughter ordered the same but asked to have the strawberry toppings on the side. And my husband and I shared their seasonal sorbet, which happened to be a blueberry lemon one. For the cheesecake, it was really good with the fresh strawberries and the strawberry compote. The blueberry lemon sorbet was tart but really good if you like sour.
Again, our waiter, Tyler was great! Since we had 2 celebrations, he made sure to get us candles to blow out.
I wanted to give this place 5 stars, since we had the best service, but considering they have "steak and seafood" in their name, and they couldn't get the lobster cooked right, I had to give...
