Chicken On The Bayou & Boudin Shop — Restaurant in Breaux Bridge

Several of my family members has made it a priority to stop here on the way home from Alabama/ Mississippi since it was Peggys Praline Shop. You guys really disappointed us Today. Let me start with the 9 pepper jack budain balls we ordered. The rice was hard and flavorless, and I didn't see or taste any cheese. Next, we ordered the mix any 3 basket with grilled fish and shrimp/ fried oysters. For the price, we got 1.5 little fish pieces and the 6 popcorn shrimp were not deveined🤮 with perfectly fried oysters and seasoned French fries. Only thing seasoned was the fries, Everything else was bland!!!!! We also ordered mix any 2 fried basket with shrimp and fish, that was like eating a ball of grease with no flavor. Those 2 meals, 9 budain balls, 9 praline patties, 1 daiquiri, 1 soda we spent about $115.00 and threw the food away!!!!!! We've never done anything like that. I've told my family and brother who is a truck driver, and he has told his truck driving friends as well about how bad the food has gotten. I will say the cashier was very sweet though. Not sure what's going on with you guys, but yall...

The food was completely garbage. The chicken was burnt cooked in old grease. Grease was too high when cooked bc the skin was burnt and it was still bloody inside. The white meat, so burnt and old sitting up that you couldn't chew it. The biscuits also burnt with no flavor. You can tell the fries were not cooked fresh bc they were soggy and greasy. Nothing was seasoned at all even though I asked for spicy.The cashier was nice but I can tell they are a lazy crew. I didn't let my kids eat it bc the blood was still dripping out. I'm not being mean just telling it like it is. I seen other reviews and it seems scammed bc that is not what the food looked or taste like at all. I threw it away didn't even give it to my dogs. I will never go back and encourage anyone to be careful if you eat from there. Id rather throw my money in the trash than spend it there again bc at least just the money is gone and I'm not sick.i rate them no stars but had to press one to give the review. Ohhh Weee! Look- sometimes it really is just those roadside stops that provide for the best food- and this place did NOT disappoint! We treated ourselves to a variety of their offerings- including 3 types of boudin, their fried chicken & fried gator. When I tell you that I feel like I need to thank someone’s ancestors for that fried chicken- I am not lying! Lol. It was juicy & fried to perfection! The gator was also fried perfectly & they’re doing some magic in there with that batter - bc it was seasoned in all the right ways. The boudin was also great- we got a link of each; traditional pork, gator & a link of the crawfish. I personally didn’t care for the crawfish- but that’s a me thing- (gotta have my mudbugs separate! lol) but the flavor of all 3 was great. This place has themselves on the map for a reason, between the fantastic food & southern hospitality- don’t miss this...
