Worst experience of my life. I actually can’t even believe this just happened!! So the food was good, it wasn’t the best but the taste was good. We ordered burger and combination kabob. We are husband and wife and a 7 year old and a 2 year old. On the menu it says there is a gratuity added for 4 person or more. our server was a guy. There was a lady who was cleaning and stuff but she wasn’t our server.,So when the bill came, there was a 18% gratuity added. We asked the server why was it added since we are not 4, we barely have a 2 year old with us, He asked us “what you didn’t like the service?”, we told him we did and we will tip on our own don’t worry, he was not happy but didn’t say anything, but before he went to remove it, the lady who was on the register came and she got superrr mad and she started getting loud , we told her don’t worry we will tip you guys well since we like the food but just don’t like the fact that we are being forced to tip and we are not even 4 , the lady started getting super loud and saying this is a person (pointing at my 2 year old) and saying things like “we are here whole day and we had everything cleaned up and you showed up at 10.” Well google says they close at 11 and that’s why we reached there around 10. Let me mention the restaurant was empty when we reached there. Hubby kept calm and told her don’t worry we will tip you well , but she was not ready to listen , when she brought the bill back without gratuity, we sent the money with tip which was almost the same as 18%, but she sent the money back and said “I don’t need it”. Well ok, with this attitude you can’t be the waitress, she needs to get another job if she’s not happy with this job. Also, we asked what’s the owners number and name, she said they don’t have the number which is not even possible lol . I would really like the owner to reply and please take care of this. We were planning to come again tomorrow since we are on vacations in Orlando but won’t be coming any more at all...
Read moreAssalamu alaikum and Shukran! I am well satisfied with my dining experience here! The food was lovely. Beautiful flavors, well seasoned, nicely balanced spices, fresh and authentic. Service was wonderful and I felt genuinely welcomed. The atmosphere truly made me feel at home with the decor and arabic music. This place seems very popular by people in the know, but has a low key vibe, if it's busy, you may have to jump in the line, but it's worth the wait. What's for dinner, you asked? That night I was full from feeding on love, since we gotta feed it right, but this night I was in Orlando's Middle East enjoying delicious Baba Ghannouge, tender and flavorful Grape Leaves, fresh Hummus and Tabouli, well seasoned falafels and nice soft pita bread to accompany it all. After one taste, I felt the excitation vibrations, it was so good and filling, I left stuffed. And for take home deserts, Baklava Walnuts and Baklava Pistachios! Again, so good - (singing) oh, sugar sugar, oh, honey honey, you are my.... (Yes, I enjoy sweet talks with my food.) Returning soon....Inshallah!
It's been a year since I visited my homelands in the Middle East (Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, Turkey) and Greece (Athens, Mykonos, Crete, Santorini, etc.) and my darlin', darlin' love, the "land", led me here to reminisce. Eventhough I was fasting during most of my travels abroad, I was fond of the Mediterranean foods (olives, hummus, falafels). Fast forward to the Present, or back to the Future, having divine food near, makes my life Better With You In It, in a major way, filling a void. Man of La Mancha/Al-Maniya/High Plateau, since we can be who we are, in my Grecian and Egyptian forms, it's got a meaning, as an imbodiment of Nereid-Nymph Satis "She Who Shoots Forth", I offer you my sweets in gratitude for your hard work. I hope you accept my outpouring. Who are You? Some say Allah, some same God, some say The Creator of...
Read moreI’ve been to thousands of restaurants, both dives and Michelin rated and I have to say, food-wise, this is one of the BEST I’ve ever dined in. Was greeted by a VERY happy hostess who sat us at our table and proceeded to tell us the type of restaurant they are. She explained that Flame Kabob is a Palestinian restaurant that also serves other regional food types (Moroccan, etc.). The menu offers a lot of variety with both meat and plant based options. I didn’t see alcohol on the menu and, although I am not certain, I don’t believe they serve it here. If you like a drink with your meal, don’t let this deter you from visiting because the food is well worth the visit! We started off with the Mazza which gives you samples of the hummus, baba ghannouge, grape leaves, tabbouli, kibbeh and falafel entrees - all of which were exceptional (I would order each main course of these samples and be extremely happy)! After gorging on these delicacies, I opted for the chicken couscous which, since I was pretty full from devouring the Mazza items, I thought would be just right, portion-wise, to complete my meal. Boy, was I wrong! The portion was HUGE, with two perfectly cooked, juicy chicken breasts with a plate full of succulent couscous sautéed with flavorful mixed vegetables. It was fantastic! It was so good, I ate the whole meal and, when I went to stand up to leave the restaurant, I had to bend over slightly, since my stomach was so full! I forgot to mention the Musakkaa was just as good, if not better! Be sure to top it off with their deliciously flavored Turkish coffee! These guys know what they’re doing! If you are in the Orlando area, be sure to travel - whatever it takes - to this restaurant to enjoy it! It’s open late and it does get busy later, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy your meal! You...
