Read moreWe have to be very careful with reviews because it can really affect someone 's bread & butter and lively hood. I really don't understand why or how people spend $1000s of dollars from their savings opening a restaurant and ruin it with very basic things. This restaurant is a perfect example of that.
#1 - Please do not be fooled by the internet photos that make it look like an upscale restaurant. It is not! We got fooled too. They serve tea in styrofoam cups. You get the idea.
#2 - Cleanliness was a 4 on a 1-10 scale. When we walked in, almost all of the tables were dirty and it wasn't even busy. Only two tables with customers seated. No one bothered to clean the tables after previous customers left. The floor was dirty with bread crumbs and other misc. garbage.
#3 - It took 35 minutes to get Bihari Boti, Tikka Masala and 2 naans. Again, only 2 tables occupied with food already served.
#4 - Family business so there was no staff. Just mom, dad, and a 15/16 years old son, who had absolutely no clue about restaurant business. He is not to be blamed. He did his best considering his age and what was asked of him. When asked for red sweet chutney, he didn't know what it was so he said they don't have it. When asked about senior staff member (owner), she brought it BUT CHARGED $2 FOR IT. REALLY???? It's free in a desi restaurants...all over the world.
#5 - Prices were reasonable as far as food is concerned, but did not appreciate that customers were forced to buy $3 water bottle because they don't provide tape/fountain water.
#6 - Food taste? Decent. Nothing to...
Read moreNow, when you think of a pakistani restaurant, normally you get visuals of little messy place, crowded counters, servers who are as cordial as a walmart temp after a bad day, and awesome mouth-watering food. So, when I walked in to this small, but chic restaurant, and was guided to our table by two friendly cheerful nice waitresses, I didn't expect much on food. To reinforce that, I went to the restroom, and found it very clean. Was totally disappointed..... nope, with a place this clean and chic; food will wont be to drive home about!!! Well, I take it back. The Tawa platter arrived, and it looked as perfect as it tasted. Yes.... the original spicy, flavorful, aromatic experience of tender grilled kababs.... quite at par in taste with my bay area favorites like shalimar /pakwan etc, but packaged with a smile and great ambience. THe "spicey" Karai chicken, was so delicious, we cleaned up the bowl nicely with the last piece of Naan. I recommended this to my coworkers, and myself landed up there again the very next day....the last day of my stay in Orlando. And this time i had Biriyani, which had more meat than rice, not a usual Pakistani restaurant thing. But highlight of this day was the shahi falooda !! My recommendation .... do not miss it. In fact if you are here, do not miss the Tawa Platter or Shahi Falooda, and try not to miss the Chicken/Goat Karai. The owner of the restaurant was there, and he asked us if we liked the food. Even wihtout being asked, all 3 of us promised to leave a review... and...
