By the reviews and the crowds packing this place, I had much higher expectations but left extremely disappointed.
First, I want to say that the wait staff was extremely kind when sitting us down and taking our drink orders.
Now that the pro is out of the way: the biggest con was the food quality and the price point that quality came with. We got the buffet, and the food was so terrible, nobody wanted seconds and could barely poke through the first plate. Almost all meats were extremely dry and tough. This list of terrible proteins included the fried chicken, the (I think) turkey, pulled pork, and the ribs. The only thing that turned out decent was the brisket. The sides and desserts (aside from the peach cobbler) were also nothing to write home about. Based on these other reviews, maybe we went on a bad day? Like, the WORST day they ever had…? Or the people in the area haven’t diversified their food experiences enough to know what flavorful and juicy meals tastes like.
Date we went was Aug. 24, 2024, in case their main chef was out sick or...
Read moreWell......got some take out chicken which I had heard from everyone was fantastic. I did notice a number of diners without masks coming in and several wait staff also. The area of the interior did not look the cleanest. When I returned home to eat the chicken it was really great until I pulled a long human hair out of the coating crust of a chicken breast. Needless to say this was really terrible. I immediately threw the remainder of my order away. Waist of money and food. How sad. Is the kitchen staff not taking proper protection at this critical time of COVID to not only protect themselves as well as most important the customers that will be eating their food. I had expected so much more after hearing and reading other’s reviews. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon until the owners inspect their kitchen area, staff and clean up better in the restaurant area. I definitely would not want to eat from...
Read moreLet me start by saying I read the glowing reviews... Fried Chicken was cold and dry, baked beans were loaded with sugar. The vegetables were right out of the can. Brisket was over 50% fat and the desserts were just funky. We waited about 40 minutes to be seated had I known what I was in store for I wouldn't have waited. They did have "vegetable soup" looked like carrots and cabbage. The other soup I can not attest to what it was supposed to be. Potato salad didn't just have mustard as a supporting star it was main attraction. It was pure yellow. And the coleslaw was sugar and water as the dressing. Pasta salad had no flavor.
Not on buffet: Roast Beef Ham Cabbage Collard Greens Homemade Biscuits Poundcake
They had just regular pre-made dinner rolls. I could go on, but enough said it's a definite not on my return list of restaurants.
It doesn't matter because they are packed so no need to change things up quantity...
