This place has fallen off in areas where it shouldn't have. I used to absolutely love this place and I would always invite someone new to introduce them to what was once really good food and great service. The last two times we were there we got so sick that it was like food poisoning and there is 2 waiters that are just rude and miserable. One is a light-skinned woman with blond hair (older) and the other is a chubby guy with a mustache, he has got to be the rudest one and don't ask him for a special request because he will definitely show he is bothered and most of the time ignore it completely. I asked for a virgin pina colada one day & he twisted his face and sucked his teeth and when it arrived it was so disgusting and u can tell he made it without effort to properly mix the ingredients. It seems his attitude has gotten worse over the time. Imagine spending almost 200-300 $ everytime you go and going often to end up being treated like that?! And then the quality of food going down as much as it has. I've called several times in the past only to get hung up on when asking general questions like, do we need a reservation for a big group? If you don't call to make an order Noone wants to allow you to have questions and that's freaking beyond rude. I won't be stepping into this restaurant again nor will I consider the...
Read moreI think I am a stickler for first impressions. Someone invested a decent amount in making the decor nice. They are a work in progress. Management needs to see that some areas are brought under control fast. The floor near out table was visibly clean but really slippery. In a Walmart parking lot, that's crazy! Even if what you normally clean with won't cut chorizo grease or whatever got spilled, not letting someone bust their backside needs to be a priority. I'm shocked no one took care of it. I guess the restaurant shoes are quite grippy. I did not slide but my husband and the hostess nearly fell. The food is somewhat better than LaNop but that's not saying much. Convenient location, lots of seafood and vegetarian options, decent house margaritas, more appealing presentation than many similarly priced Mexican places mean we will go back. The beans were very scorched but we have gone two previous visits with really good food quality. I want them to succeed so I did mention it to the waiter who discounted our bill. He didn't need to do it but it was nice of him. He said they were breaking in a new cook. The scorched thing was not the norm The last visit would have been 4 stars. Normally, I won't visit less than a 4. I think this place can get there though several restaurants in this spot...

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart, because I've heard good things about Salsa on 220, but my recent takeout experience was nothing short of a complete letdown. I ordered the Queso Fundido, hoping for a rich, gooey, and delicious appetizer. What I got was a lukewarm container of what can only be described as cheese soup. It was so watery that it pooled at the bottom of the plastic container, and the little bits of chorizo that were supposed to be the "fundido" were floating aimlessly. It was the worst queso I have ever been served, period.
The service, unfortunately, was a perfect match for the food. I'm not sure if the staff was having a bad day, but the interaction was as flat and watered-down as the cheese. There was no warmth, no friendliness, just a transactional exchange that made me feel like an inconvenience. I understand that takeout service can be different from dining in, but there's a basic level of customer care that was completely missing.
I'm truly disappointed and won't be returning. It's one thing to have a bad dish, but when the service is equally poor, it leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth—in this...
