TLDR: A Baltimore County Italian staple. Perfect for family dinners and get togethers. Don't miss the seafood pizza!
Vibe: 5/5. Situated right on the City/County line in Dundalk, Squire's has been in the Italian food game for decades. The restaurant is a sprawling complex, complete with ample private lot parking and seating arrangements to accommodate both groups large and small. Accessibility is also very easy, making this a perfect option for quick lunches and last minute to go orders. Inside, the restaurant shows it's age, but in a nice way (think like a fine patina). Everything has been maintained, with clean bathrooms and dining surfaces throughout the place. Overall, Squire's exudes a "homey" atmosphere.
Service: 5/5. The waitstaff at Squires were fantastic from start to finish. My table of 5 was seated immediately by the hostess for our 6pm Friday dinner (restaurant was busy). Our waitress came over immediately and began taking drink orders. Both food and drinks came out very quickly after ordering and we never had a problem with refills. Extra brownie points for providing a pitcher of iced tea without us asking for some extra thirsty members of the table.
Food: 5/5. Simple yet tasty American Italian fare with some Maryland twists. For dinner, we ordered the seafood pizza, buffalo pizza, calamari and a few cups of cream of crab and 50/50 (cream and crab and MD Crab). The soups were fantastic, with backfin lump clusters gracing the top of each cup. The calamari was perfectly fried and generous in portion size. But the pièce de résistance was certainly the pizza. Squire's is notable for their crispy yet hearty pies, which are thicker than thin crust/ NYC style but much thinner than sicilian. Both the buffalo and seafood pizza were perfectly baked to a golden brown and generous in toppings. If we had to pick a favorite, the seafood pie would take best in show, as the delicate flavors of the shrimp and crab toppings played wonderfully with the spicy seafood based red sauce and mozz cheese. Overall, Squire's is a solid go to pick for some honest, Maryland...

My first and last time ordering delivery from this place.
First I tried to order online and due to me not meeting the minimum $10 it wouldn't let me order. So I called in and asked them if they were strict about the $10 minimum order? They didn't give me a direct answer but only asked me what did I wanted to order? I tell them I wanted a burger and also asked if it came with fries? He says yes.
Feeling good, I now continue to order over the phone. He then tells me I am still below the $10 limit, so he tells me I can order fries or a drink to make up for it. EXACTLY....I thought it already came with fries so I didn't think much of it, so I asked him if they have SWEET TEA? He says he does and I complete the order.
When I get the food delivered, I noticed how small was the burger, its the size of a McDonalds cheeseburger, and NO FRIES. On top of that I get a Lipton ice tea with Lemon flavoring. I was assuming I would get restaurant quality food and real sweet tea. I can't dink the lipton due to citric acid, it hurts my stomach. I ended up trowing away the drink and eating the mini burger. You are better off getting your food from the vending machine, since that is what I had to do.
Here is my problem:
If you are going to charge me a friggin DELIVERY FEE, then it SHOULD NOT matter how much the total comes to.
If I don't want cheese then I shouldn't have to pay for a CHEESE BURGER.
For the money the burger should have been bigger.
Compared to Safas for $8 I get a sandwich or a wrap with fries and a drink. I feel I got ripped off from Squire's. On the plus side the burger was pretty good but the value wasn't.
My total damage:
$9.63 with $2 delivery fee $2 tip (Not driver's fault he will never see the $2 delivery fee they forced me to pay)
$11.63 Total Cost
$14.63 if you count me having to buy from the vending machine to make up for the small portion.
In my Opinion Safas has a much better deal $8 for a Lunch Meal and with $2 tip comes...
Read moreWe were part of a group of around 25ppl that had a bi-monthly meeting there. We were the first to arrive and the server greeted us almost immediately and asked if we'd like something to drink. We hadn't decided at that point but she made it very clear that she could only do 3 checks. We did inform her there would be several others coming in and reply was...yes I was told 20. As others started to come in, she went up to them to get their drink order and told them she could only do 3 checks and again she was told the same thing we told her. This wasn't a large gathering for dinner, this was an organization meeting for a meeting. Some members get something to eat and some members just get something to drink during the meeting. We placed our food order and waited. Now the members that came in right after us literally had to go hunt the server down so they could place their order and it took forever for other members as well. Then it took forever for food to come out and the orders weren't put in at the same time, so there was no reason they should ve been taking so long to come out. I could understand if this had been a large dinner party and the cook was trying to get all the guests food out at one time. I could also understand if it was a Friday or Saturday and the Resturant was packed but this was a Monday and there was hardly anyone in there. When a member of our group asked about Why it was taking so long, the server got nasty and told him...the cook has to make it. It doesn't just pop out ready to go. The food wasn't that great and for the service we got, I can tell you we won't be returning there. I've been a server in my younger yrs, so I try to be more sympathetic to servers when we go out because I know what it's like. When your experience is all around horrible, that's a problem. This place use to have amazing food and excellent service, don't know what's happened...
