The Backyard BBQ Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

We had lunch at The Backyard two days ago. The food was very good only it was extremely difficult and disgusting that we had to fight off flies before, during and after we were served. Never have I experienced so many flies in a restaurant!!! We were INSIDE!! Reported it to a waiter and he said “I know, I was so embarrassed watching you fighting them off”! He said he would report it to the owner. He also said they were in close proximity to the Murieta Equestrian Center…….therefore they have a fly problem!!! Really!!! There are ways to prevent them from getting in!!! I wonder what the kitchen looks like with flies everywhere? I notice all the rave reviews and I agree the food is good but my experience was destroyed by swatting flies away!...

My boyfriend and I stopped here after checking out the Kennedy Gold Mine. We were so hungry and I was looking up restaurants on the drive back to Sacramento and came across this place. I was stoked when I saw they had soft pretzels and tri tip. Of course they were out of both items on the menu, no big deal…my problem was how cold everything was when it came out. Like it had been sitting in the window way too long or no one in the back cared how to properly heat food. I told the server to let the kitchen know just how cold it was and all he could say was “oh, okay” Super disappointed and even more so after...

My buddy who lives in the South Murieta side took me here on a Friday night..Great staff working here, very cool bartenders. I didnt eat, so I can't comment. Probably a small mix of younger crowd with slightly older crowd but everyone interacted with everyone..even me thanks to the booze, I was a dance machine for the two person entertainment they had. Got some locals to dance too and they had a great energy. Id make this a regular stop if I lived in the area...but ill be back...
