Our family entered this charming place on a whim a weekend after Thanksgiving. This sweet spot is somewhat hidden as its a block off the main road through this historical part of Hollister MO, a place I fear is missed by most Branson travelers. If an espresso or wine bug is biting your fancy however, you would serve yourself well to find this place. The selection should well meet your needs for a delectable coffee or espresso beverage. Of course they have chai tea as well and can whip up a non-coffee drink for those types. While waiting and conversing with the lovely staff who was amazingly friendly, you'll notice a cool selection of wines that poke your curiosity. They carry interesting fare, something different than the norm of bigger shops and national chains. Priming for the holiday season, they had a Winter Plum wine that was a nice treat. They even had a make your own mead item that sure to be a fun gift to someone else or yourself. The atmosphere is close and charming, daring on an unexpected sophistication you might not expect. Outside is a courtyard patio area featuring a fire-pit that the owner says gets spontaneously lit on cool evenings as patrons enjoy their drinks and company.
We loved the place, and will go out of our way to go back. Upon leaving, we all agreed we'd found something special and were already missing it, it's just that charming and welcoming of a place. Hopefully they're little coffee house will make it, if you read this, make it a point to try it out. Thanks again to the staff who was so warm to us and our 2 ginger headed kids who loved finding out that the barista ha a 'bun in the oven" and they had lots of fun discussing that. We hope all goes well with the new baby!
update 2015: have patroned here off and on over the years, always an enjoyable treat. most recently had an ice latte, that sounds plain enough, but was very appreciated. The blend they used was so smooth and flavorful that I didnt even bother using sweetener which is something i usually always add. but this time, i tried it before sweetener, and thought that the sweetener would actually take away from the great flavor and smoothness it...
Read moreI visited the area for a week-long conference at the Branson Landing. As with any trip, one of the first priorities was finding a good local coffee shop, and Vintage Paris capably fit the bill.
First and foremost, the coffee. I had lattes every time I went, one basic and a couple with a little agave. The 12oz was a just a little weak for me, but I got an extra shot in future orders, and it was the right mix. The espresso was flavorful, and the 4% locally-sourced milk was rich with a bit of sweetness. I never got a specialty drink, but my coworker had no complaints with his, and it doesn't seem like the kind of place that dumps a bunch of sugar in everything. They also serve wine and bottles of craft beer.
They obviously have a local clientele: the barista/owner called nearly everyone by name, and there was a shelf that appeared to store cups brought in by regulars to use when they visit. I was one of only a few people there on my first trip (a weekday afternoon), and the owner and I had a pleasant chat while she prepared my drink. Subsequent visits repeated the same friendly service, regardless of who was tending the counter.
The decor is homey, featuring old hardwood floors and lots of shelves with books, knickknacks, and bottles of wine. The front area has a coffee table surrounded by a couch and some seats, and the back area has several 2-4 top tables along with couches, high-back chairs, and other lounge-ish seating. I got all my drinks to go and visited in winter, so I didn't check out the courtyard.
This is the kind of business I love to support: friendly service, good products, reasonable prices, and run by locals doing what they love. I'll stop by any time I'm back...
Read moreI live locally and get coffee at vintage Paris twice per week for years even at the previous location in downtown Hollister. I have also attended their Halloween bashes with my family. I always tip the baristas with each visit. I will not be coming back. I ordered two 16oz drinks which were poured into a very small mug. When I asked if they were 16oz the male barista said you ordered it for here. My response was I was never asked if I wanted it for here or to go and specifically asked for the 16 oz size. At this time the coffee was poured into a 12 oz go cup. The barista continued arguing saying he did not charge for 16oz size. At this point other customers were staring. He also appeared as if he was training a new employee. I accepted the 12 oz coffees without further conversation. There are 4-5 other coffee places in close proximity. Good luck staying in business with college students who come in for complementary water and wifi. It is obvious my frequent business is not appreciated. The worse part is training new employees to have poor customer service skills. Check out coffee on the rocks I heard wonderful things they are located In Downtown Hollister. There is also a Starbucks close by.
Matt, a refund is not needed. I love supporting local business and am glad to do so. I respect the mission and values that you all have. However, at the end of the day I would say customer services skills is what keeps people coming back and paves the way for new customers. I am not needing any refund or compensation and that was not the goal in...
