Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was pretty nice. It's quaint and local, so if you want that experience, it's perfect. The food was the biggest problem, and of course people primarily visit a restaurant for the food.
Nothing was bad, but some of it was mediocre. Really, there was only one main problem with the meal, but more about that below.
We were there for breakfast. We each had the deluxe breakfast. My eggs were quite good. My wife's were under-done. The bacon was perfect. My potatoes (hash browns) were quite good, but my wife said her home fries were mediocre. The sausage was good, but nothing spectacular.
The biscuits were quite good. They are softer and fluffier than biscuits usually are. I am sure they are made with baking powder instead of soda. It gives them more of the texture of a yeast roll. Most biscuits are dry, crumbly, and salty, and some people really like that, but I prefer a baking powder biscuit that is softer and less salty.
The gravy was decent. Good, but not great.
Each breakfast was $6.25, which I think is an excellent value. Our biggest complaint was the drinks. We ordered a Sprite and Dr. Pepper. They arrived in aluminum cans. We were expecting fountain drinks. They were also $2 each, which is far too much to pay for a can of soda, in my humble opinion.
So, we got a mostly-very-good meal with a few glaring flaws. On the whole, it was a mediocre experience, and I wouldn't suggest going out of one's way to eat at this restaurant. If you are in the area and want to try something authentic and local, it will do nicely.
One more problem: there were no bathrooms, as near as we could tell. Maybe the diners are expected to go outside and use a different entrance for bathrooms? It wasn't clear. The lack of a public bathroom cost the...

This place has some of the best food my bf and I have EVER had!
The first meal I had here was the chicken and dressing with mashed potatoes and green beans. As you can see I completely CLEARED my plate! All their food is made with love and you taste that in every bite.
The gravy is next level I felt like a Franks Red Hot commercial, I put that ish on EVERYTHING !
The next meal I had was the fried chicken, squash casserole, cabbage, and watermelon DELICIOUS 😋
Home cooking at its finest!
The service is great, we've had the same server both times.
They have breakfast, lunch, and a daily meat and 2/3 special.
We met the owner she is precious and the cafe itself is decorated in you guessed it, M&Ms. They are even incorporated in the menu.
This place is the best hidden gem we have discovered since I moved here in 2018.
Delicious, homemade, good eats at an affordable price!
I will rave about this place...
Read moreThis past Monday on Labor Day, we were looking for a spot to eat. Someplace I would call a true hole-in-the-wall. A friend of mine, who was born and raised here, recommended this little restaurant. From the outside it does not look like much, but inside you find a cozy place with no more than ten tables and service as genuine as the people in this community.
Our waitress was warm and helpful, offering several recommendations. I went with the Philly cheesesteak based on her suggestion, while my colleague ordered the salmon. Both were excellent, and I have to say the coleslaw is absolutely to die for. Even better, our meals were ready in under ten minutes.
The prices are more than affordable, and the entire experience felt authentically local. I’m grateful for the recommendation and would highly recommend this spot to anyone...
