Seafood Haven — Restaurant in Coolbaugh Township

I don’t normally write reviews but seafood haven left such an impression on me I absolutely had to leave a review. First of all there is nothing bad I could say about Seafood Haven…nothing AT ALL. Immediately when you walk in it feels like you’re at the beach and entering a seafood restaurant at the boardwalk. The second thing I noticed was how very clean it was inside.

The food was absolutely phenomenal especially when fresh. And I love how there is fresh popcorn ready at all times for the little kids inside as you are waiting for your food. There are even syrups provided such as caramel or butter to elevate the whole experience.

But the main wow factor was how good the food was and how friendly the staff were. Even though it was my first time it felt like I was being welcomed back again. I know there was a review that said the owner Daryl- was rude. On the contrary he is very sweet and I’ve experienced nothing but kindness from him. He even went as far as to ask me and another customer our opinions of the place and if there’s anything he could change or make improvements on. That left an impression on me- he really cares about satisfying his customers.

I’ve gotten my boyfriend and coworkers hooked on seafood haven. It will Easily be the top two places I recommend to try out when visiting the poconos. I don’t know a single person who actually dislikes their food…I mean you can taste the quality in the seafood and everything else. As someone who has seafood regularly in their diet and is a part of my culture- I noticed how fresh the fish and shrimp were and I was so happy with every single bite. Everything on the menu is to die for. In fact it was SO good …the whole order didn’t make it throughout the car ride back home in one piece XD .All the other reviews about the this place having the best fried fish were not lying nor exaggerating. A great starter is the managers special and the crab sticks which I heard were made from scratch. You can tell the owner puts 1000% into his business. 100/10 I would recommend to friends and family and would come...

My name is John London and I have never written a negative review in my life, but what I witnessed should be documented. A lady entered the take out restaurant ahead of my wife and myself. We live in New York City, but we have a summer home in the Poconos. The lady ahead of us placed her order respectfully the lady taking the order had a very bad attitude. I guess she did not realize that we all could see and hear her. When the lady got a portion of her order, she ate a portion of her fish while she prepared her condiments. The young person at the register treated her with such disdain when she said that she ordered the ten dollar deal with her order not the nineteen dollar full order. She blew her top and said real loud you should have told me that. She had spent nearly one hundred dollars of fish. My wife said to me let's leave, but I wanted to make sure that she would be alright. Instead of taking my order, she went to the back and pointed to the lady while she improperly stated what had happened to a man and woman in the kitchen. Her interpretation of what had happened was fabricated The nice lady did not get her change of $13 dollars and left with her fish. We never ordered. That person should be fired. I asked her if she would come back here. She said that the owner and his wife are very nice and I want to support them. I told her that she should not be treated like that. I helped her to her car and went to the Jamaican restaurant for our food although we really wanted fried fish. I or my wife will never go to Seafood Haven. There is a very nasty person at the register. She needs to be trained or fired. I can't believe that that lady would ever return....

This place at first caught me by surprise, while on vacation with hubbster on our 15 year wedding anniversary. However I was so pleased. Let's start with everything I wanted they didn't have 😒🙄 86 on Cornbread they ran out or sold out, No Catfish nuggets, No Fried okra 🤨🤯 I mean I was Ready to Gooo. Nonetheless The owner was pleasant, not so much the young man that was working with him, he did have much patience at all, but what young kid does these days 💁🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ Let alone Adults 😔 Anyway the food was hot off the press the owner proudly brought it to our car as he was about to close for the night. Got to the hotel to enjoy and Bomb the jokes 🤔 The Mac & cheese basic, Candy Yam 😱😡😳 Not sweet at All and Absolutely No Flavor more cinnamon and nutmeg is all I tasted. Salt and Pepper couldn't make it better 🫣🤔🙂‍↕️🤦🏽‍♀️Lastly the Regular Fried Catfish 👀🤯😵‍💫NOOOO Flavor whatsoever Hot Sauce barley helped and I had to get the hot sauce from another food restaurant 💁🏽‍♀️ because they didn't put any sauce in my bag. Finally the only thing that we enjoy were the Hushpuppies Wow 👌🏽 Awesomeness. Sadly to say this place was a 4.5/10 for Me. I try to support us, but we must continue to do better.
