Bradley is the "district" manager of the only 2 locations referred to his managers as too nice and he gets angry over that. Also said that the owner is an old retired man who wouldn't believe me anyways. So, if anyone knows the owner of Shortstop someone should let him know Bradley has some rude things to say about his boss I'll gladly share. I truly hope I can find the owner because he deserves to know that Bradley only thinks of him as an old guy that would only believe Bradley anyways. I have more respect for my elders than that. Also, that his manager lies about things that his managers didn't say. Hey Bradley? Do you hate all women or just when you call customers on a Friday night, sounding drunk and delusional? Also does the owner know you think so low of him? If not, he will! Welcome to 2024 Bradley, I think your owners opinion matters much more than you think! Ps Bradley called me from his personal cell phone so if anyone knows his boss I have his employees number. Even the Doordash customer service was laughing hearing the call from Bradley.
Another edit* the general manager called me back and claimed that the manager said I threatened to call the police. I called the manager he blamed it and she denied saying that and hung up on me. I called Bradley back, who previously kept telling me I was irrational and that he doesn't believe customers and gets mad when his managers comp food. When I told him that I spoke to the manager at the location and she said she didn't say that, then he hung up on me.
edited* I told the manager, or as she said said, she might not be the manager at all since she slipped up and said the manager is, then quickly stopped talking. my son is allergic to cheese and wrote it in the special requests and they completely ignored it and then hung up on me.
The manager is rude. they screwed up my food on several items. she told me she was the manager then started talking in the third person. I asked why she did that and she made up a story. she said they NEVER CHECK TO GO ORDERS. I swear on my own life and my kids, she literally said "WE NEVER CHECK TO GO ORDERS" I was stunned. she blamed it on the cook and the employees and never once APOLOGIZED!!!! I was raised in the restaurant business and she was the worst manager I have ever dealt with. she kept interrupting me and then blamed me for interrupting her. she got mad every time I asked a question. I look forward to speaking with the owner or general manager about this because they will never get business again from us and will get 1* reviews on every website possible. Shortstops Friday manager is Karen, the definition of a Karen! she obviously hates her job because she kept telling me to call back tomorrow. I told her we ordered food because my husband and I both have COVID and she then told me if I wanted it fixed that I would need to drive up there, while I just told her I had COVID. I'm sure drunk people love her, but her not drunk people customer service skills are McDonald's level. 3:30pm Its not too busy, we found our favorite spot at the bar near the cooktop and we learned quickly the bartender, Amber G. was not in a good mood. Her demeanor was curt! The tension in the air was so thick it could be cut with a knife. It is possible the older couple at the bar thought they offended her. Being a bartender one needs to have tough skin. Amber sure had something on her mind as her body and facial expressions were clear. After her greeting, we were hesitant to order food however she improved slightly. She was leaving and asked if we wanted to close out our tab with her or have our tab transferred. We gave her our $5 off lunch punch coupon as we called in prior and the gal said the coupon could be used at ay time. Amber again snapped at us with responding that this couldn't be used. For some reason, I expected her response. At the end of the day, it's only $5. As a courtesy, and good customer service the coupon could have been accepted. Employees often make mistakes as often they aren't informed or maybe don't care. It's good business to side with the customer. This and Amber's unpleasant behavior reinforced our decision that we don't need to go out of our way to visit again since we moved further away.
Follow-up since our last visit- As noted previously, as non-regulars, service hasn't been as attentive as we like. That didn't stop visiting. We order a cheeseburger with fried onions and French fries every visit. This time it was obvious the quantity of onions and French fries was much less. I waited for my server to return before eating the French fries. Upon return, our server said that now you only get a handful of French fries. That was disappointing to say the least. They are an item I do not need, however they are very good. This time I went home content but not full as I usually am. The prices had already increased some time ago as all places did. Now the portion decreased. This has made us realize that we can make just as good or better drinks and food at home.
A great dive bar! We love the burgers and French fries. We enjoy sitting at the bar watching them cook. The service is good. However, they aren't very social.    Read moreI've been coming here for decades. Moved into the neighborhood when I was 4 years old. I am now 28. Figured I'd stop by here and leave my mark! One of my earliest memories is biting into a shortstop burger. Has always been one of my favorite places. Service and staff have always been great throughout the years! Food as well, for the most part. Only reason I'm saying "for the most part" when it comes to the food is as follows. The last 5 or so times we have gone, the burgers have been...different. Smaller, thicker patties that arent really filling out the bun (they always used to fit the bun well) and are kind of awkward to eat, and a tad bit on the saltier side than what we are used to. But other than that bit of pickyness on my part, this place has always been a top choice for me when it's time for a bar burger, or stopping by any bar in general. Great food, amazing service, good environment! Keep it up, Shortstop Coon Rapids! Get those burgers back to their former glory (and shape, đ) and this will then be 5/5 stars!
