Had a to-go (pickup) order. I confirmed my order in detail 3 times (yes, 3 times…they often get things wrong). When I got home, I saw that one of my items was not correct. It was just 2 large tortilla shells nothing else on them. No problem, I’ll just call and let them know. The original girl I talked to (the same one I placed the order with) went and talked to the kitchen. They said it was correct. I tried to explain to her what I had and that I can send her a pic if she wanted. She just kept saying sorry. When I asked to talk to Jessie (the owner) I was told he wasn’t there. No problem, can I speak with a manager? “There’s not one here”. Really? Ok, I asked to speak to whoever is in charge. They put another girl on the phone. I explained the situation and she basically said too bad. What? I asked for her name so when I talked to Jessie I can explain everything in detail. She said it was “Jo-wanna” and started laughing. I later realized she was mocking me by making up a name that sounded like “ you want a”. I did find out that she was actually a fairly newly hired girl. The conversation ended with the original girl saying, fine, we will make them for you at no charge. What? I told her I already had paid for the item that I didn’t get…that was the point of the call. It was too late, too much hassle to drive back. I’ve tried to talk to the owner multiple times but have not heard back. I spoke with his daughter and explained everything and still did not hear back. I explained to her calmly that this area has a multitude of great Mexican food restaurants and that, although their food is good, the way I was treated, mocked and never got a follow up call, my business will be...
Read moreMy wife and I go to Ole's most Mondays for the margarita special. The service is sometimes slow, but they are always friendly. Update: we normally go to Ole’s on Monday evening because of the margarita special. That may be the problem. The service was good a year ago, but the last few times it had been terrible. It seems no one is assigned to greet guests so you can stand at the door several minutes before being greeted and seated. Lately the servers were new and did not have a strong enough grasp of English to get our orders correct. Also, the servers have not come back around to refill drinks. This last time he took my water glass and didn’t return. We may be done with Ole’s. Back to last year’s review: The food is very good. Recently I had the Carne Guisada for the first time, it was excellent! Seasoned just right and the tortilla soup was great. This week I had the Puchuga con Hongos, also for the first time, which was amazing! It was seasoned just right and served amazingly hot on a...
Read moreI ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp plate and extra veggie side from Ole's in Coppell, for delivery by Zing. I had previously ordered from them before, and the veggies and bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious and on point, so I expected the same good food this time.
However, not only did they send me bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos (not the shrimp) that I paid for, all of the food was cold and old, including the veggies, as if it was made the previous day.
When I asked Zing for a refund for the shrimp only, I was informed the restaurant denied the refund because "I received what I ordered". Nah. Nope. No, I didn't. I didn't ask for a refund for the veggies, because I could just heat them up, and they at least got that part of the order correct.
Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will never go to this restaurant, or use Zing delivery ever again. Which is sad because, as I stated earlier, the times I have frequented the restaurant before, the food was delicious and fresh. ...
