Gyro & Spice Mediterranean Grill & Boba Tea — Restaurant in Cordova

We were here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and gave it five stars on Yelp. The experience we just had was pitiful in comparison. The atmosphere is still nice, the food is fantastic, but the service was absolutely ABYSMAL! The young man serving the front of the house was in way over his head and could barely keep up with a couple of take out orders plus a couple of tables. Our entrees were delivered several minutes apart. A woman from the kitchen delivered my husband’s wings and they did not have the side of ranch my husband had requested. Several minutes later when I was finally able to get our server’s attention, I nicely asked him for it. When he delivered it to the table, he said “it doesn’t come with ranch, that’s why it was forgotten “. Well the menu also says it comes with carrot & celery sticks, which were also not on the plate when it arrived, if we are getting technical. He never came to ask how our food was or to refill water glasses. When we ordered our food, I ordered a milk tea, and it never arrived either. At this point, I was disappointed and just ready to leave. As we were getting ready to go up to pay our bill, he came to tell me my tea was almost ready. I explained to him that I ordered it to have while at the table, not to go. In a very haughty tone he told me that the tea is made to order & it takes awhile to make. Half an hour or more? Really? Maybe if you told me that when I ordered it?? He argued with me when I told him I no longer wanted it. This makes me very sad. I had really hoped we had found a great new little spot. Food here is always fresh and delicious. The wraps feel authentic and are the right size! More people need to eat here and I'm surprised; they're probably paying the same amount if not more at that terrible McD's around the corner. Definitely recommend to come here and eat. Maybe if there were a few more affordable options like a $5 gyro to help advertise to business more? Another recommendation is getting more exposure on Google maps: for some reason if you type something like foodnearme or look for food options this location is glossed over and not always listed appropriately or even on the zoomed out map, whereas other places near here are. Wow just wow !! Had an absolutely outstanding meal here . We ordered the Mix Combination Platter which includes selection of chicken beef and lamb with basmati rice and salad and what a feast it was , and every bite had me wanting to come back for more. We added some pita bread and tzatziki and there was plenty for the two of us . We travel to Europe and the Mediterranean regularly and this has definitely the best flavor compared to any other we’ve tried hands down ! The customer service was great and the owner was efficient and friendly in handling anything we needed. You can tell he has a big passion for the food he makes and it shows !
