I really enjoyed my experience. The thing that really made this a good experience was the staff. The meal was pretty expensive at $74 for a glass of wine and a New York strip steak. The staff provided a complementary bottle of Perrier water and a cup of espresso because of some issues with my meal that they fixed. The staff was just attentive enough. Now the downside for me were the steak was good, but not $44 good. I wish it was a little bit more rare having ordered, medium rare. The view as well was pretty good, but didn’t justify the restaurants expensive price. The resort overall is very nice in its position, but the restaurant itself faces south west, which is probably the more unattractive direction if you want to overlook San Diego. I made a reservation for myself, but I don’t know whether or not you should make a reservation for this place. There were a number of empty tables when I came in at 7 PM. The restaurant was still busy enough. Overall, I give it four stars. I would consider bringing an expensive date night here.

My second night at the Lowe’s resort, we decided to have dinner at the Crown Landing. Our waiter was a guy named Renee. He knew the menu very well. With an appetizer caramelized brussels sprouts, and chose the special which is a pan seared Seabass and the New York strip steak dinner. The atmosphere was that incredible unfortunately it was a rainy day in Southern California. We did venture outside to take a picture of the patio with no one was sitting at, but it would be a beautiful place for dinner. We had a romantic evening. Enjoyed our food in return to our beautiful suite.

We went here because we had a $100 Resy credit. We got here and the place was very pretty and had a lovely view of the sunset. That’s about where the good things end. We got the jumbo shrimp and we got 5 shrimp for $24, and they were nothing to write home about. The $42 steak frites was a big disappointment. Steaks were way past the cooking point we asked for, and the frites were very bland. Maybe other items on the menu are better but this was a huge miss. We were expecting high quality food for the price point and it was average at best.

Went for Xmas buffet. All of our steaks came out bloody red and about 2oz and lobster tail same very tiny and terrible flavor and a small scoop of mash potatoes no flavor even my 5yr old neice said, you know makes mash potatoes taste good, is some butter, and 2 pieces of Asparagus. We had to ask for salt and pepper shakers a few times as our food gets cold. I had to ask for A1 steak 3 times before I got it. The hen is not a hen its a very dry and tasteless chicken breast. The all you can eat sides were very simple. They kept running out of things like shrimp n lemons etc. Desert bar ran out of vanilla icecream and cream carmel and cannolis. The excuse was its the end of the night, so than why charge 17 people regular price of $100 if the others got everything we paid for and didnt get what everyone else got. We had to gather our own dishes in a pile the entire time and go look for the waiter or anyone to remove em and we would keep having to ask for water. One waiter waiting on 17 people. All of our food didn't come out at the same time and we all had to send back our steaks to cook them more on top of that, by the time they came back we were so frustrated didnt eat em, half of us were done eating and the other half are still waiting on our food that didn't come out all at once from the get go. That many people at the table they should of had at least two servers bringing out all of our dinners at the same time so our family can enjoy eating our Xmas dinner together!! Service was terrible and food was bad!!!! Not worth $100 not even half of that. Manger gave us 20% off. Being 6 steaks dinners and 3 dry so called hen dinners weren't eating and most of their desert was out and having to clean our own table n begging for water the entire time!!! And top it all a 22% tip is added to our bill for that horrible service...

We had dinner here Thursday night. I can't believe that the reviews do not paint the whole picture. One this place the best onion soup I had othern than bistro 520 in Chicago who closed almost 20 years ago. The soup was exceptional. So deep in flavor. Perfect amount of crouton and cheese. The balance of the onions and the broth was perfectly executed. Our server recommended the coq à vin. We shared everything but this one I almost fought my partner for it. The sauce was so good thick and delicious on top of the puree potatoes. The vegetables were excellent. I can't really describe how good this was. One highlight for us was that the chicken was a good chicken that had some toughness that only comes from free range chickens that run free no the tender melting stuff you can get anywhere. So for us that was a bonus. Drinks were very good and again normally I don't make much fuss about the servers because we are all humans but he was attentive. Gave us great recommendations and he wasn't checking on us every second he let us eat and enjoy our meal. Oh and the cornbread he brought with that homemade butter to die for! I ask why the low reviews and we were told waiting time on the weekends could be long. But that is expected is a hotel. Please visit this place when you are in San Diego. As always we were starving and we eat and then we remember oh no...
