China Bear Restaurant — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

I will never eat here again. I watched their little operation they have going on. We got seated by the nice older Asain gentleman who then introduced us to our waiter. Our waiter had a very thick accent and it was hard to understand him, that didn't bother me at all. We are all trying to make a living after all. But what got me was, I noticed that the waiter would go up and wait by the register while his tables got up to go pay. Him and the older Asian man would talk in Chinese and he would then go clean the table. If the people would leave a cash tip, he wouldn't follow them, only the people would pay with card would he wait to see how much they were gonna leave him.

It was our turn to pay so I decided to test out the little operation. I went to pay and left my family at the table (I was paying with a card). The older man asked if I wanted to leave a tip, and I replied with "my family will leave it". Once our waiter (who was standing next to the register) heard this, he went back to the table and realized we didn't leave anything. He then started yelling across the restaurant "NO TIP NO TIP" and the accent was gone. Mind you my wife had the money in her hand. Yeah we are done...

Came to get some food and been here before. Price is pretty good for someone. Food was pretty good. Now the potatoes were a bit salty and wish the noodles had a bit more flavor. But overall the food I give it 4 stars. It was good.

The floors were disgusting and the ice cream station was gross. Old old water and it was covered in old Ice cream. Water needed to be majorly changed. .

Service would have been also 4 but at the end. Failed. I went to walk to the door and went shoot. Forgot to grab the check to give to the cashier. So I turned around and the waitress was there. She took the check from my hand and she handed the bill to the front. Then she never left. I felt like I was being treated like I was gonna run out the door. Hardly. After how much I ate. I could barely waddle out the door haha. So I left and gave no tip because of that experience. Sad part. I had a $5 on me I wanted to give. But If they think people are like that. Have people pay before hand and you will have less problems if so. Overall I give it a -5 in overall experience and cleanliness.

This place needs to be closed down for health hazards. Buffet food was all over cooked from the heating lamps. *The steak bar had the steaks sitting in one metal container under the grill turing all shades of colors who knows how long that raw meat was left out to sit there all day. their is black mold all over the Ceilings the bathroom was unusable completely backed up no out of order signs and you could smell the sewage from the dinning room. filling a plate at the furthest buffet bar near the kitchen doors and caught a glimpse of the kitchen when an employee walked by and they had their what looked like raw chicken sitting in a black crate on the floor. Along with other what looked like prepared foods stacked in rusted metal containers all on the floor. the buffet bar was not properly labeled the ice cream bar was covered in flies and the ice cream looked completely freezer burned/old hard ice cream. they state kids under age 4 are free and they still charged me for...
